The official back cover copy

Here is the official back cover copy for FOR HER PLEASURE. I like how they combined the first two novellas into one blurb (they’re very, very closely connected)

When it comes to sensation, be careful what you wish for.

The pleasure can become addictive…

What a woman needs…

Nice set-up: one spirited woman in Kit Townsend, and two buddies like Ryder and Mac. Kit never did follow the rules—especially nonsense like “three’s a crowd.” So, for a while, everything was easy and hot—a no-strings threesome in and out of the bedroom. Kit never thought she’d be giving Mac the edge. And Ryder never dreamed he’d secretly be head over heels for Kit. When love puts a kink in sex, is there such a thing as a happy ending?

What a woman craves…

Mia Nichols was a sweet Dallas girl with big dreams for the future when she first met Texas Ranger Jack Kincaid. A lot has changed since that fairy tale. Framed for drug possession, Mia’s now being forced to work undercover at a strip joint where several girls have disappeared into the sex-slave underworld. Then, into the club walks Jack, who’s got one more chance to prove himself as Mia’s protector, savior, and lover….

I'm off to RT!

I’ll be blogging periodically from the conference over at Writeminded, so if you’re interested, tune in there this week. Otherwise, I’ll see y’all next week :weee:

Updates are done

the web goddess and I have been playing around with the website and arranging and rearranging books etc. I think we have it done (at least until I get another bug up my ass) :lol2:

But check it out. The front page is gorgeous. Has FOR HER PLEASURE up in lights. I’ve gotten two really fantastic advance reviews for this book which is way cool. I have excerpts up now too!

I’m in the process of making my ARC list so when I get back from RT, I must mail and mail and mail somemore…sigh. I really do hate going to the post office.

I'm deformed

I spent today shopping. I. Hate. Shopping. I started the shopping two weeks ago, but I could not find a pair of pants in a petite length. So I tried on two pair of pants in an average length and then had the store order the pants in petite. They arrive in the mail yesterday, I try them on, and they’re like 4 inches too long. :crying:

I take them back and so I start the search for pants I won’t trip over. They don’t make pants for people as short as I am. :help: In the past, I’ve actually bought capris pants and worn them as regular pants because they were long enough. But for some godawful reason, pants are now coming in these huge ass “flare” styles. :cursesign:

I recently went shopping for jeans. I wear jeans until they literally wear out. I needed new ones because I hadn’t bought a pair in something like 7 years. Good grief. Doesn’t ANYONE sell a “normal” pair of jeans? They had low rise, mid rise, flare bottom, stretch jeans basically ANYTHING but a damn pair of regular normal ass jeans. When I finally found ONE pair, they were called “rigid fit” :hysterical:

And shoes. God. For such a short person, I swear I have the biggest damn foot. My uncle used to tease me and say that if half my leg wasnt turned out into my foot that I’d be a lot taller. I’m not a shoe person. I have one to two pairs of shoes that I wear until they fall apart. So I needed shoes. Something a little less casual than I have now. Could. Not. Find. Anything. Anything! I found shoes I liked, mind you, but in each instance they didn’t have a size that fit me right. They were either too big or too small, and of course they wouldn’t have the size in that particular size that was either half size larger or half size smaller.

So I’ve decided to go barefoot to RT. All I have to do is wear those damn supposed petite pants that are mammoth on me and they’ll cover my feet anyway.

To do, to do, to do and more to do

For the month of March I focused entirely on writing the book. I ignored everything else. And everything else piled into a mountain. So when I finished the book, me being incredibly stupid, thought hey, I deserve a few days off. I should totally take the week even.

Then I got a good look at the “to do” list :crying:

So that’s what I’ve been doing the entire week. Lots and lots of tedious, mind numbing little things that had to be done. Sad thing is after busting my ass, I’m still not done. But I did get about a dozen things marked off the list. I feel SO much lighter today. It’s a good thing, because I’m heading to Louisiana this weekend with lots and lots of work I’m making my family help me with. :help:

I just want to know whose idea it was to write a proposal while trying to get ready for the Romantic Times Convention. :cursesign:

Reading Rituals

I’m a chronic re-reader. I have shelves and shelves of books that I read over and over. In fact, when I feeling stressed or I come off a big writing jag, I find myself picking up an old comfort read instead of reading a new release. I do the same with my ebooks too. I’ll run through the harddrive and open up older favorites and either read the entire book again or read my favorite parts. It’s a huge pick me up.

I go on about never having a TBR pile because normally I devour a book as soon as I get them, but that’s not true right now. I actually have several books to read, but I’ve been too dead-headed to devote the mental energy to concentrate on something completely new. And I’ll admit. Part of me is chicken. I’m afraid of reading something I won’t like. LOL I’m such a moron. But reading is very much tied into my current mood. I have to feel upbeat and adventurous to dive into a “new” read. When I’m in a funk or just worn out and brain dead, there is nothing better than diving back into a book I KNOW I’ll love.

So, I have a pile of books I haven’t read but want to very much, and I have a pile of books I’ve read many many times and am enjoying reading again. :guitar:

Editing. Lots and lots of editing

Got copy edits for For Her Pleasure at the end of last week. Finished those and then line edited and revised Berkley Book number 2, and then I got edits for Undenied. I think I’m officially sick of editing!

Good news I’m completely finished with Berkley Book number 2. Sent it off to my agent last night. I only have one more read through of For Her Pleasure to do and then I’m fedexing those off to New York. And edits on Undenied mainly consist of repetitive words, commas and hyphen shit. So, tedious, but not too time consuming.

Next up: Writing the next proposal. I’ve been taking notes but I still have one character issue to figure out for the heroine and then I should be good to go. :sweating:
