Fun!

Over at the Writeminded Readers Yahoo Group, we’ve been having more fun than human beings should be allowed, and I think we broke Jaci’s in box :purplelaugh: If you aren’t a member and like a good time plus winning yummy books, then you should definitely join us before the weekend is over because we’re throwing a party and things are getting crazy

Over at the Writeminded Blog, Steph is doing the TGIF giveaway and we’re declaring it Steph’s official Blaze release day at both the blog and the reader’s group, so much fun is to be had as we randomly shout words like SEALS!!!!

Really, we’re fun. And we don’t bite…hard.

Dear Monday…AND Tuesday…

I hate you. Wednesday is my new best friend. Unless of course it goes like Monday and Tuesday…

Then I’ll seriously be looking at Thursday.

:drunk:

February

The month off “writing” has been nice. I didn’t say work, because I’ve actually worked quite a bit this month, but I didn’t write a single word on a contracted book. I’m itching to get back to it, but the break was much needed and it got my brain working in all sorts of fun ways.

I got several proposals done that I’ve been wanting to write. I’m still working on two but I’ve almost got the big one wrapped up. I love it, and my agent loves what I have so far  And then uhm, I have this totally unexpected one that sorta grabbed me by the throat and threatened to choke me if I didn’t write it. :kap:

So now I have less than a week to devote solely to this one last proposal and then I’ll hit March hard with the writing and I won’t stop until uhm well several months from now :sweating:

Golden Eyes excerpt (Moved)

Golden Eyes will be releasing in less than three two weeks. I’ll be putting an excerpt up on the website as soon as my web chicky gets to it. (excerpt is now up on website) In the meantime, here is the unofficial blurb and an excerpt :cheer:

Golden Eyes
Coming March 4th to Loose ID

When Sheriff Duncan Kennedy finds an injured cheetah in his mountains, he brings it home, determined to find out how she got there and stop the poachers who were hunting her. When he later checks on the cheetah and instead finds a gorgeous, naked woman with an arrow in her leg, he’s completely flabbergasted.

For six months, Aliyah Carver has been trapped in cheetah form. Taken by poachers who import exotic animals to illegally hunt, she stayed in animal form to avoid detection. She escapes the hunters, but now she faces another problem. A devastatingly sexy sheriff who now knows her secret.

Excerpt after the jump!

I’ve petted and loved and fondled and named it George…

Cooking (or not)

I go through stages where hubby and I cook a LOT and then there are the times when we…don’t.

When we first got married, I couldn’t cook for shit. I had three things in my repertoire. So we kinda learned together and had a lot of fun doing it. And as a result, I’ve figured out the cooking thing quite well.

One of our favorite things to do is pick out a new recipe, shop for the ingredients and then have a big family sit down meal on Sunday. Sometimes it’s Saturday.

and boy do we love to barbeque. We barbeque 365 days a year.

So lately has been my non cooking stage *sigh* I suck. And the kids are getting tired of it. I don’t blame them. So I’m going to have to get back on the bandwagon and get back in the habit of cooking dinner every night.

Tonight we’re having crab legs because my daughter has been DYING for them. Tomorrow night they want lasagna and then they want spaggetti. I think they have a month’s worth of menu suggestions lined up for me….

:kap:

Possibly the bestest week ever!

I love weeks like this. Warm fuzzies abound. Lots of pink elephants :elephant:

Sweet Surrender was the five heart sweetheart over at The Romance Studio.

Also at The Romance Studio, the CAPA awards were given yesterday and For Her Pleasure won for best erotic contemporary romance.

I also learned that For Her Pleasure has gone back to press twice :whoo: My readers are awesome and I owe every bit of my warm fuzzy news to them.

And tonight at the ARE awards, I snagged an award for best author for 2007 (There were ten authors honored) and Brazen was honored as the top book for 2007 (10 were honored in this category as well)

It was a terrific end to a splendiferous week of news :weee:

This morning's quandry

:headscratch:

So I’ve been working on a proposal and it’s a big one. Lots of details to figure out and I had an epiphany last night oh around 2AM as I usually do because those sorts of things can never be figured out in daylight hours :stfu:

Anyway, so I figured out that I started the book in the wrong spot. It had been bugging me. I knew something was off and well, the beginning was just bleh.

So here I sit this morning knowing I could A. write the beginning in it’s new, shiny incarnation or B. go back to bed.

I have to tell you. So far B is winning… :passedout:

Weeee

One proposal down. Three to go *eep*

:rockthefuckon:

I got the tough one out of the way first, so hopefully the others will go a lot quicker.

Proposal writing

This month is going to be spent writing proposals. I have several I’ve been putting off and now they’ve caught up with me :help: But it’s going well after a slow start. I’m in the zone on the first even though I’m constantly being sidetracked by a different proposal that has me trembling with excitement. Last time this happened….well it happened with Be With Me when I got sidetracked with it, but it resulted in a fast sale so hey, who am I to complain about the twisted way my brain works.

I realized this morning that I only have three weeks until the release of Golden Eyes and Sweet Surrender :whoo: Wow where does the time go?

I should have an excerpt up for Golden Eyes soon. I’m usually have one up a lot sooner than this but this year so far has been kicking my butt.
