Boo hoo and woo hoo!

The bad: I’m back from Vegas :crying: I’m bummed it’s over with. We had SO much fun. I won a few poker tournaments and hubby cashed in two so it was great. We didn’t sleep much so I’m struggling big time and I have a ton of work to do to catch up.

The good: LSU woooo! :rockthefuckon: Kicked some Ohio State ass. :whoo:

Been sorting out cover art for two upcoming books and I should be getting the cover for Be With Me just anyday now  I’ve gotten a glimpse of the preliminary art work for Into the Mist and once we get the kinks out, it’s going to be gorgeous.

Hopefully I’ll have several gorgeous covers to share this month.

Fedexed my contract back today and Be With Me will follow it shortly just as soon as I’ve ironed out all the blemishes. It’s a busy, busy month!

We’re going out to West Texas hunting this weekend but I’ll have to bring work with me since I already blew off the entire first week of this month.

2007

Hard to believe it’s nearly done with. 2005 was a bad year for me. 2006 started rather poorly but turned around in a huge way by the summer. As great as 2006 was and it will still go down as such a memorable year, 2007 was even better in a different way. 2006 was about “getting there” 2007 was about ENJOYING being there. Make sense?

2007 was a hell of a lot of fun. I hit the RT conference and got to hang out with Karin and a whole slew of really fun people. Also hit the RWA conference and got to spend a lot of time with the Writeminded girls and again hung out with Karin. Went to Carmel in October to again hang out with Karin :whoo: We got into a car wreck on the way to the airport and I had to hang out a little longer than we’d PLANNED but hey, we had a great time and are totally going to do it often.

It was also a busy year writing wise. I wrote 8 stories this year, well nine months of the year since i didn’t do shit last January or for two months this summer. Sold more books to write in 08 :rockthefuckon:

AND I took the first step in realizing a huge dream of mine. Hadn’t really planned that for 2007 but hey, why wait any longer? I’m making it a goal in 08 to realize that dream. :weee:

As for 2008, I full expect this to be an even better year than 2007. What can I say? Life is good. Enjoying the ride and the moment.

Amy and I are going to Lori Foster’s shindig together, and really, how much fun are Amy and I together? (look out) We’re also going to RWA this summer in San Francisco. And I’m starting out 08 in Vegas with hubby where we plan to act like kids and have more fun than human beings should be allowed.

In writing, in the first half of 08 I have four books scheduled to write with another in the works for this summer.

For me 2008 is totally going to be a year of enjoying life to its fullest, having fun and making sure I see my dearest friends and spend time with them. Yeah, I’ll be working hard, but you know? My job is a hell of a lot of fun, so don’t feel too sorry for me :woot:

Fight Night wooo!

Just a few minutes to UFC 79 :rockthefuckon:

Have munchies, drinks and am parked in front of the 47 inch flat screen TV :woot:

It’s a total kickass card and I can’t wait. :sumo:

I'm sooo not ready (prepared)

for my trip to Vegas. But omg I can’t wait for it anyway.

Yesterday I put Into the Mist to bed. I got the line edits for it a good bit ago but had to put it on the “to do” pile because I was busting ass on Be With Me. So I did the little revising I wanted to do and then did a line edit myself and then it goes back to my editor who does another line edit and then it comes back to me and I do yet another line edit. Heh. Think me and my editor are anal much when it comes to putting out the best possible product?

So anyway, today’s task is to crack open Be With Me and tackle my revision notes. I usually don’t have a whole lot of revising when I finish a book because I edit as I go (sometimes obsessively) but in this case, and especially since Be With Me was such a long book, I just made a few notes along the way of things I wanted to address later. I don’t have a LOT but there’s a thread I want to take out, one I want to refine and then of course there’s the whole polish and obsess over word choices and imagery.

I have three days to do this because I have a couple of people I’ll send the book out to while Im off in Vegas having more fun than a human being should be allowed.

I have two shorter stories I need to finish by mid January and then I have a 60kish book and a single title that will probably go into bohemoth length, just because I don’t know the meaning of coming in UNDER a word count projection.

2008 is going to be a busy year, however, I’m going to kick it off ON VACATION wooo!

Be With Me is finished

I’m actually sad about it because I loved this book so much and loved the characters. It’s my longest book to date and that’s saying something since my historicals are usually bohemoths. But then For Her Pleasure came in at 470 pages. Let’s just say that Be With Me is longer lol.

I already miss writing it. It was a book I truly enjoyed writing. I have edits to do on another book this week and then I have to go back and do a read over and tackle my to do list in edits.

I love finishing a book so far ahead of deadline because there’s no sense of panic. I have plenty of time to put the book aside and take my time getting it right.

Of course now I’ve got to get in the zone for Stay With me. And then Mistress. And then Sweet Persuasion…

This only allowing myself to think about one book at a time is probably a good thing.

My marriage nearly ended

over the *^$&@#$ Ebookwise I got for Christmas. :cursesign:

Sweet Jesus, WHY must everything be so complicated?

Someone could make a bloody killing if they’d make an updated ebook reader (you know with current memory capability, current technology and a non proprietary format)

Hubby and I both have cursed a blue streak and decided ebooks are of the devil plain and simple.

Ok so I'm still ready for that vacation

but I’m actually approaching a point when I can take it guilt free! I’m set to finish Be With Me TODAY. :whoo:

I pounded out 8000 words yesterday and I only have three scenes to write today, two shorter ones and one longer one. Unfortunately I can’t sit and write uninterrupted because I have my daughter’s Christmas party at 10:45, early release for all three kids at 1:00, and a hair appointment at 5:00.

So it’ll be writing in fits and starts today but Im hoping to type THE END tonight before I go to bed.

This has been a mammoth book in the making!

I’ll be squeeing just as soon as I type that last word.

I'm so, so, soooooo ready

for a vacation. :kap:

Hubby’s been gone all week on a hunting trip. If kids weren’t in school and I didn’t have so much work piled up to do, I would have gone with, but oh well, too much crap to get done.

I’m pushing hard to get this book done by the end of next week. I have some minor revising to do on another book that has to be done ASAP and I have a novella to finish that I’d like to have done early in January.

But I’m missing hubby and really, really, REALLY looking forward to our vacation to Vegas after Christmas. As in cannot wait, desperately need the downtime.

On the upside, Im really, really loving Be With Me. I don’t always love a book when I’m writing it. One of my editors teases me relentlessly about my manic love/hate fest that I have with books as I’m writing them. As in one day love, next day hate and so forth. I haven’t hit a hate point with this book, and I don’t expect to. It’s nice not to have to deal with the I need Prozac hysterics that sometimes accompanies writing a book. Really, really nice….

Ahhhh

I’m 75 percent finished with Be With Me which means I’ll finish ahead of schedule as hoped. :whoo:

I should also be getting a cover soon since the conference was scheduled a week or so ago. I’m chewing fingernails over this one

I do have back cover copy. I’ve actually had it for a good while now but it’s early days yet so I’ll post it sometime after the first of the year. Maybe when I get the cover :woot:

I have NO control

None. Eharlequin has all ebooks half price today. I believe I’ve mentioned that with my insane writing schedule, I’ve not been by to purchase ebooks in the last two months.

That all changed today :lol2:

42 ebooks 49 ebooks later 55 ebooks *sigh* (I’m no longer saying what my total is up to lol) I’m done with my shopping. I have no self control. I haven’t had this much fun in ages.

No, I don’t have time to read them right now, but just knowing I have so many lovely ebooks added to the already enormous pile I’ve stockpiled from the summer (yes, it’s been that long since I got to read for any length of time) on my harddrive just makes me giddy. :rockthefuckon:

I’m so going on a binge reading spree when I finish this damn book. Oh wait, after I finish the next book…shutting up now.
