I’m celebrating the release of For Her Pleasure over at Writeminded. :cheer: I’m giving away prizes all day, so head over for the fun!
Author: Maya
Damn it!
I just remembered that today is the last day of the month, which means that the October books will go on sale after midnight at eharlequin. And I’ve got so much stuff to do that I can’t binge like a junkie and go buy them all and spend the weekend reading :crying:
Scarce
I’ll be scarce for awhile. Tis madness right now. I’ll be over at Writeminded in and out for the next two weeks as we throw our party. My main days I’ll be posting are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (my release days and also the ebook madness day where I’m giving away tons of ebooks)
But I’ll mainly be in my writing hidey hole. Most of yesterday was either spent on the phone with my agent or emailing her. We have a couple of things brewing and so for the next couple of weeks I’ll be eating, sleeping and drinking the writing.
I’ll be chatting over at Romance Junkies Tuesday September 4th, so if you’re inclined, pop over and say hi.
Big honking grin
Renee sent me a pic of For Her Pleasure that she saw at her Borders. A week early!
It's quiet!
The kids went back to school today :weee:
Just one more week until For Her Pleasure hits bookstores everywhere. Can’t wait to get a glimpse :whoo: The Writeminded party kicks off tomorrow and we’ll have two weeks chock full of giveaways. Brazen also releases next week (same day as For Her Pleasure) so it’s going to be a very, very cool week! I can’t wait!
Beach
We went to the beach this evening. I was feeling restless and edgy and wanted a little adventure. I wanted to go late and stay to watch the sunset. We’re currently being plagued by seaweed. After driving the beaches on the Bolivar Penisula, we opted to take the ferry across to Galveston and watch the sunset on the ferry ride. We got ice cream in Galveston then rode back and drove home.
It made me anxious for my upcoming trip to California. I’m flying out to see a friend and we’re going to hang out in Carmel and watch a few sunsets with drinks :drunk: I can’t wait. Just a little over a month until I go.
This has been a fantastic writing week. Love it when that happens. And I’m so proud of myself. I love lists and schedules. They make me happy. Which is hilarious because I’m the most disorganized person I know. While I LOVE lists and schedules, I never stick to them. Ever. I love making them because they give me a false sense of organization, but then as soon as I make them, I discard them.
Anyway, I made a writing schedule because I needed to map out my writing time for the rest of the year. I have various commitments and needed to plan accordingly. I actually stuck to the schedule all week and so I jammed on the page count. I love the story I’m working on. It’s fun and I love all the characters. They’ve been so fun to write and hang out with.
One more squee, but the kids start school Monday :rockthefuckon: Nuff said.
I likey the office
however, the kids have now decided my bedroom is the place to be? :kap: :crying:
It’s been a productive morning, though. I busted ass over the weekend because I had two sets of edits show up on the same day. But the copy edits are fedexed back to NY and the Samhain edits have been emailed to my editor, so now I just have to get cracking on the other stuff I planned for this week. Namely, writing!
Finally!
I’ve been meaning to set up my office for uhm quite a long while but stuff always gets in the way. I have “office space” in our computer room, but the kids have overrun it. I just want a nice quiet area that’s MINE and mine alone. So this past week I moved my beloved bookshelves into my bedroom. I uhm have this big ass bedroom. It’s such a waste of space. Whoever built it was big into the whole “master suite” deal. Me? I don’t spend a lot of time in the bedroom. Never figured out why they should be so huge. So anyway, I decided to make half of it my office. :elephant:
So bookshelves are in place and they look lurvely. I’m about to go pick up my desk and tomorrow that’s going in  Then I get to transfer all my shit in there at which point I can quit complaining about the kids getting into my “stuff”
My very own space….sigh. I may never come out!
Isn't it beyoutiful? :)
Don’t have author copies yet but my editor fedexed me one copy of For Her Pleasure until my author copies arrive. :cheer:
Ahhhh
I just finished the proposal from hell. :drunk: It’s not that I hated it. In fact, it’s a story I love very much. But it was hard. And it’s still not perfect. I have tweaking to do, but it’s finished as in conceptualized. Even the synopsis is done. :worthy:
I feel so….relieved I guess is the word for it. Huge weight off.
