Okay guys. I want to shop. I’m craving a really good read. I want to branch out and pick up some new books, new authors, rather than fall back on my stash of comfort reads. I’ve asked around for recommendations and have gotten a few but I’ve decided to make it a challenge.
Here’s the deal. Recommend something for me. I’ll put a few limitations. I’m not really looking for historicals because they don’t usually lend themselves well to a shorter format and well there just aren’t a lot of shorts out there in that genre.
I want something awesome. I would LOVE to find a new auto buy author. I would love to find a new book to covet and pet and reread a million times.
I’m looking for ebooks. Would love to find a small press author to love on. But I’ll take anything I can get in Kindle format.
I’m soooo desperate that if you end up recommending a book to me that I love, I’ll give away gift certificates. I’ll report back on the books I choose to buy out of the recommendations and I’ll report back on the books I love. And if I love the book that YOU recommend, I’ll send you a GC :)
Deal?
Now obviously it doesn’t count if I’ve already read the book or already own it. Obviously it won’t work for you to recommend a Christine Feehan book to me because duh… I already love all her books *g*
Ready? Set….Go! Oh and if you’re an author, there is no shame in recommending your own book ;)
Oh and does this need to be said? ROMANCE heh. I only want romance recs.
Edited to add: If you don’t mind, give me a little bit about the book. Maybe what you liked or a piece of the blurb or something that’s awesome about the book. That’s much better than just author and book. That way I’ll know something about it before I go searching!

Sophie Oak from Siren Publishing is a great author; her menages are HOT!!
Natalie
I just finished reading up on Sophie’s books and she is awesome I love her writing. I can’t wait for her three new releases this year. Told her she can’t stop writing I would be bored. She puts comedy into her series and it’s great along with the hot sex.
Sophie was the first name that popped in my head too. I’ve heard great things about her. She’s on my TBB list.
newcomer lila munro is terrific. her upcoming release 1/18–Slower Lower Love, is fantastic!
I just read ‘Deadly Fears & Eternal Flame’ by Cynthia Eden. They were both AWESOME READS! I highly recommend them. I could NOT put the books down.
Damn! Mine isn’t out yet! I would have totally taken advantage of this to push my book series on you!
But…have you read Alison Paige? Loved her last book “Little Red and the Wolf”. Also, Jo Davis has become my newest “Auto-buy”. Her Firestation series is fantastic!
I’ve read the Alison Paige book and liked it.
Jo Davis – The Firefighters of Station 5 series was amazing. I just finished Ride the Fire and I so enjoyed it I have read all of them in the series. It is available on Kindle. I have all of them on mine.
You took my suggestion. I am on the 5th book and love them. But then again who doesn’t love a sexy firefighter.
Love Jo Davis. Good suggestion. I forgot to add her in my list!!
Lorelei James’ Rough Rider series – best book ever in the series is “Rough, Raw and Ready”. Very hot menage, well developed characters and awesome story.
Anything by Shelly Laurenston. You will laugh your ass off while reading very hot stories about hillbilly shifters. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE “Pack Challenge” “Go Fetch” and “Here Kitty, Kitty”.
Happy Reading!!
these are great and fun.
I’m reading the Rough Riders series now and love them.
Anita, Rough, Raw and Ready is one of my favorite’s of hers! Great series!
I don’t know if you’ve read it, but you should try Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch.
A little of the blurb:
How can a sexy marketing manager join forces with an Alpha Centauri male in Armani to save the planet-using hairspray, a Mont Blanc pen, and rock n’ roll?
Easy…
She’s Touched by an Alien
I absolutely love Romance Menage writer Trista Ann Michaels! Their One and Only is about twin brothers that have a psychic connection and are able to help the police save a supermodel and then of course they both fall for her while trying to protect her. Leave Me Breathless has the same premises 2 guys (best friends) falling for a woman that they are protecting.
OMG Shelley “Their One and Only” is AWESOME!
Trista Ann is awesome…she has a new book coming out in i think she said two months. She has a book called “Remember Me” that is such a good one. Anything Trista writes, is a great book!
I really like Lilly Feisty, she’s had two paperbacks (Dare to Surrender and Bound to Please), plus a few downloads.
Ok, here are some I have read recently – all ebooks & Kindle.
Jayne Rylon – Razor’s Edge (bk 2 in Men in Blue series)
book 1 is Darkest Night. Romantic Contemporary suspense.
Carolyn Brown – (Texas Romance: Honky Tonk series) I Love This Bar (1), Hell Yeah (2), My Give A Damns Busted (3), & Honky Tonk Christmas (4).
Loved these laughed and cried through it all!
Jane in Texas
Oh I loved the Darkest Night! I have Razor’s Edge on my Kindle It’s my next read.
On Jayne Rylon’s Men in Blue series they are a police series with more to come M/M/F. They are very hot, the first is a long time friends, turn lovers Menage with man love in it.
The second book is M/F with a great Heroin who is fiesty and getting to make up for lost time in her life, since she was a virgin she is all for trying all she can.
The Honky Tonk series is a great funny series that will make you laugh and cry. It is set in a Texas Honky Tonk Bar, that each owner finds true love in the bar, even though each one isn’t looking for love and usually dosn’t like the men at first. :) I loved them, and she has another series that i am planning on reading very soon, called Lucky series (also a Texas series).
Brotherhood of Fire by Elizabeth Moore. Hot menage with so much passion, romance and well, sniffles it’s not a book you can put down. And when you do? You’ll want the next one in the series. Awesome read.
hope this helps!
hugs,
billi jean
Wrapped Around Your Finger by new author Fallon Blake – it’s smokin’ hot! A little food, a little bondage (OK – maybe a lot of bondage!) and an awesome lead couple makes for a super-sexy read!
Here’s the book blurb…
Plus-sized fetish model and aspiring chef Indigo Hartley has plenty of tattoos and a fiery attitude to match. When she’s offered a job as a sushi model for one of Miami’s trendiest restaurants, she jumps at the chance. Little does this country-mouse-turned-city-vixen know that what starts out as a modeling job will end up the answer to all of her kinkiest fantasies. Three days serving as a sub to this hot chef is too tempting an offer to refuse.Banner Faust has worked his ass off and sacrificed his love life to become a rock star in the culinary world. On what should be the biggest night of his career, he realizes something is missing from his life—the submissive woman he’s always craved. The curvy new model with the blue-streaked hair and innate submissive nature just might be the one he’s been waiting for. And when he gets her home—and in his bed—he soon realizes three days will never be enough.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series! I have read all 13 of them at least 10 times each. I would love to move to Virgin River….too bad it doesn’t really exist.
Liberating Lacey By Ann Calhoun. Slightly older woman, just coming out of a 15yr old marriage hooks up with younger guy. He’s a cop, there are handcuffs and it’s majorly hot. It’s an excellent story.
One of many authors that I’m hooked on is JR Ward. Her writing is great and her characters are really good, you really can’t help but fall in love with them, and I love that she brings her characters, that we already know and love, back in other books. It’s important to start from book 1, “Dark Lover”.
Another one I absolutely love is Sherrilyn Kenyon, her Darkhunter series is amazing. Can never wait for her next release!
I recommend Elle Jasper-her afterlight series rocks she is a new author and i bought her book at walmart and finished the book in one sitting, that is how good the book is!!!
Another good author would be Destiny Blaine who also writes as Natalie Acres and her books are on Siren Publishing -anything she writes is awesome! Her menages are HAWTTT-i mean, stick a fork in me, I am soo cooked that is how hot she can get :D check her books out.
Hmmmm I have a few more authors to try out. Sophie Oak & Cooper McKenzie on Siren Publishing…
I really like Allyson James who also writes as Jennifer Ashley. I love Allyson James’s StormWalker series…
Moira Rogers-anything she writes ia wonderful. I just started reading her Southern Arcana series and I totally love it and her Red Rock Pass/Santuary series is just as good too… Dana Marie Bell-anything by her is a treat!
I also recommend Marie Harte…you can find her on Loose LTD Publishing and if you search for her on amazon.com you can find alot of her older stories for good prices…
OK :-) I hope that helps you in the way of some new authors. I have more if you need more ;-p
OOpps sorry didnt see that you wanted a blurb before I posted

She finally has a protector in the form of a huge, tattooed, shaved-head Bear who vibrates with carefully restrained power.
When Chloe is left for dead and Tabby is threatened, only Alex can keep his growing family safe. Giving Tabby the loving home she needs, though, could come at a price—Alex must give up the control he’s worked a lifetime to attain.

Ok I am not going to hit you with all of the blurbs but hope this helps…
I have two for you if you like Paranormal And Sci-Fi Romance, the first is “Touch Of Fire” and here is the blurb: Product Description

2nd is “True Believers” which is a sci-fi romance and has a “bathing” scene that will rock your world and features an AI computer named Bubba, here is the blurb:

Both books are available on Kindle and are written by Maria Zannini and she has sequels in the works for both too…
jackie >_<
Sheet Music by Tibby Armstrong
a bit of the blurb:
Music journalist Kyra Martin faces the toughest assignment of her career—to write a cover story about enigmatic heartthrob David Tallis. Deadline looming, Kyra plans to go undercover. When she ends up under the covers with the sexy superstar instead, can both her career and their budding relationship survive?
Gina Gordon-Her Five Favorite Words or Forever In Lingerie
a little of FIL blurb:
Martina Jackson spent the last two years running from her past. Through the practice of Holistic Medicine she has meticulously transformed into a self-fulfilled woman, with one tiny exception…hot, steamy sex with no strings.
While she waits for the job offer of a lifetime, why not quench her sexual desires with an eager man willing to push her to the limit? What she doesn’t plan for is, the fling is exactly what she’s been running from.
blurb for 5 favorite words:
Becca always starts her day sipping a latte and watching the piping hot Mr. Sexy. When they get stuck together in an elevator, it only takes a minute for Becca’s panic attack to take over. What she needs is to focus on something else. Something hot. Something dirty. Good thing Mr. Sexy knows a thing or two about distraction.
you may already be a Joey W Hill fan but my favourite book of hers is A Witch’s Beauty, a most unconventional take on the beauty and the beast tale with the ‘beast’ in question is the heroine and vice versa. Very powerful, emotional & sexy tale.
Also Keta Diablo’s Land of Falling Stars, reminded me of a hotter version of Gone with the Wind with the heroine not being nearly as annoying as Scarlett O’Hara nor as conniving :) Very hot, complicated love story between 3 friends. I have this on ebook, not sure if it’s available in hard copy (though with that sexilicious cover I want it bad!)
You might’ve already read this book but it’s called Mouth to Mouth by Erin Mccarthy. It’s about Russ Evans who is a cop investigating a man who picks up women, gets them to trust him and then robs them blind. While on a stakeout when he gets a tip about the next target he meets Laurel Wilkins she approaches him thinking that he is the guys she is supposed to meet because online he used Russ’s name. They sit and have coffee he is shocked when she announces that she is deaf, which I thought was unique for a herione in a romance novel. She has pretty much lived a super protected, sheltered life and that she was looking for some fun. She suggest that they have sex no-strings. Well and that’s where the fun begins.
I loved this book, I loved the characters and even the secondary characters were great too. It was one of those books that when I put my kindle down I was smiling. It’s a couple of years old so I’m sure you’ve read it but great great book.
I’ve suggested her before, but don’t know if you’ve read her – Leanne Banks. Love her Bellagio shoes books. Also, pretty much all her Silhouette Desires.
Or Emilie Rose – another Silhouette Desire author; and I love almost all her books.
Susan Lyons has novels and novellas out, with Aphrodisia and Brava. They’re really smart fun reads, but with lots of depth and substance. The good part is they’re not downers.
The shorter part is what’s getting me… erm. You’ve read Jess Dee, right? She writes great sexy stories… Menage, straight romances… writes with Samhain.
Otherwise – what about Nancy Warren’s books? She’s a Harlequin Blaze author, and has a bunch of anthologies out with Brava (and single titles as well.)
India Grey – the HP author… Anne McCallister, and… how about Maisey Yates? All three of them are HP authors. All of them have something of a back list (though I think Maisey only has one title out in the US her other books are available at the M&B UK store.)
Those are my suggestions for now.
Oh and for Susan Lyons – her Awesome Foursome Quartet. I dunno why I thought you were looking for shorter stories… but these aren’t too long and all four are awesome. Really. If you haven’t read them, you totally should.
I just finished reading Alison Kent’s book, “The Icing on the cake”. Very good book.
I just love posts like this! I love recommendations from people who like the same authors I like (and obviously everyone posting here is going to love Maya Banks! LOL!).
I just read Falke’s Peak by Anna Leigh Keaton and Madison Layle. That was fun read. Shapeshifters and outdoorsy activities. It’s the first in a series, I assume, since there are a whole bunch of brothers in the family and they go 2 to a girl. ;).
Her Heart’s Divide by Katherine Dienne was so good I wrote to the author to make sure she will be writing more books. That was a really fun story, with a little bit of a warp in time/space and some hilarity with two guys thinking they are both married to the same woman as one guy gets switched with another parallel universe. I guess she’s written a “normal” (no woo-woo stuff in it) but I haven’t tried that yet.
I just started Falling, Freestyle by Vivian Arend. I think it’s the first in a series involving extreme sports and I like it so far but can’t say much more because I am only a few pages in! :) It is a friends to lovers story, which I LOVE. Love love love that theme. Vivian Arend is always a fun read for me.
So far all but one book I’ve read from Carina Press has been to my taste (the dud had a perspective/style that I do not care for, so it was not the story’s fault!). For people going there for ebooks, be sure you read the excepts provided because they are actually long enough to tell if you will like the writing and the story. Love that about them.
I love Vivian Arend -and I really enjoyed Falling, Freestyle . Anything Vivian writes, and you read, you wont go wrong in buying and enjoying!
Marie Force, Fatal Affair and Fatal Justice (which just came out). Sam and Nick are the reocurring H&H. More in their series coming out, including their wedding later this year. Lots of suspense, romance, great dialogue, and watching their relationship progress past the normal HEA is awesome.
Lorelei James, Rough Rider series. This just came out in book form, but the original is on Kindle. There are I think 10 in the series now. They are absolutely smokin’ hot, but the stories involve the same families, so you really feel like you are a part of it.
I mean I know you probably read everybody I read, but I love Cherise Sinclair’s Masters of the Shadowlands series and Master of the Mountain.
Also a must which you many already read, but Tymber Dalton’s The Reluctant Dom is my most favorite book every I can reread it several times. So touching. Also Tymber’s Love Slave series is awesome.
I could name others, but feel you already read Eden Bradley, RG Alexander, Kris Cook, Shayla Black and Sophie Oak.
Hope you find something great to read.
I just discovered Lena Matthews, who by herself writes HOT erotic romance that usually involves a hunky caucasian alpha male and a african american female. Race is not the main feature of the stories, but I do think she deals with it realistically. I also enjoy when she teams up with Liz Andrews to write books where anything goes.
Another author I enjoy is Trista Ann Michaels Entwined Fates series.
Looking forward to finding new authors myself from other reader recommendations
Have you read Rachel Gibson? Love, love, love her books. Romance plus a little comedy in every book. She knows how to grab the reader with a lot of sexual tension between the hero and heroine. Try her!
Came over to recommend a few of my favorites from my Christmas vacation reading and saw Venetia’s note. *Super hugs*
So… I recently read books by two new to me authors I loved.
Dirty Thirty by Cara McKenna – a modern alternative couple decides to live it up for the hero’s 30th bday. The heroine solicits a man to give him a present he’ll never forget. It’s listed as Erotika at EC but the couple is committed. The writing is FANTASTIC. Witty, fast-paced and sexy.
Holiday Bound by Beth Kery – a twist on an old favorite… Father and son have a bad relationship, enter the heroine who’s being swept off her feet by dad’s charade until she realizes the son is where it’s at. Hot and sucked me right into the story. Also weather appropriate for me at the time since it takes place during a blizzard and I was in NY at the time in the recent snowstorm. :)
Happy reading!
Jayne
But Jayne what about your books? I LOVED Kate’s Crew and can’t wait to get my hands on Morgan’s Surprise. Then there’s Nice and Naughty. So loved that one too.
You’re my recommendation to Maya.
I loved Kates Crew and waiting impatiently for Morgan’s Surprise :)
I have two for you from Carly Philips..
The Corwin Curse Series – Lucky Charm ~ Lucky Break ~ Lucky Streak – A witch cast a spell on all Corwin men that if they ever fell in love they would be doomed. Each book is about a different Corwin cousin who overcomes the curse and finds true love again
The Hot Zone Series – Hot Stuff ~ Hot Number ~ Hot Item – Three sisters come to live with their uncle after their parents die. Soon they become PR agents to sexy atheletes. Each book is a about a different sister and how they tame the wild athlete and find love.
Don’t want a series I have a book that I read over Christmas and loved it. Although you may have read it since it was one of your giveaways from you launch party.
Snowbound by Larissa Ione – An olympic skier Sean turned ski patroler meets Robyn, a woman back in her home town for a school reunion it heats up. she is looking for a fling with a regular guy but when she find out who sean really is she backs away which only makes him want her more.
How historical are you avoiding? Because my back-up fun read is P. G. Wodehouse’s Wooster and Jeeves stories which sort of takes place in Edwardian England (his version of it anyway).
I’ve been enjoying Erin McCarthy’s Fast Track series about race car drivers – the cover of the first book, “Flat-Out Sexy”, is really, um, sexy. I didn’t like the third one, “Hot Finish” as much (I kept thinking the heroine really ought to find another guy altogether, someone with less drama), but I’m looking forward to the next one, “The Chase”.
I second whoever recommended J R Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Yummy vamp heroes and strong heroines.
I absolutely loved each and every book in the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr. She is a wonderful author and her books are a pleasure to read. I read them so quickly because once you start, you can’t possibly put them down till they are done. The characters are interesting and you really get to know them through out the series. If you haven’t tried her, I think you will become as addicted as I am.
Diana Palmer writes amazing books; Her LONG TALL TEXANS series is amazing!!!! Then again anything she writes is amazing, she an auto buy for me. Hope this helps
Mari Carr—her wild Irish series is set in Baltimore and is about a large Irish family and each falling in love—-not always conventional but always fun
Leah Braemel–I loved Texas Tangle. Menage and in Texas…hot guys with hotter sex
Olivia Cunning–Backstage Pass has yummy guys in a rock band!
Marilyn Campbell—I fell in love with her books years ago and she’s back. Primal Beat tests the connection between primitive music and sexual desire.
Someone just suggested Mari Carr to me a couple of days ago. I’m getting ready to buy the Wild Irish series.
I liked the Leah Braemel series and she said she is working on more for the series (wrote and asked) :)
Tymber Dalton: menage:
Love Slave for Two
Love Slave for Two: Family Matters
Love Slave for Two: Beginnings.
Leah Brooke: menage:
Desire, Oklahoma series
Dakota Heat series
Bella Andre:
Love Me
Game for Love
Elle Kennedy:
Any from her “Heat” series
For ‘tamer’ stories:
Emily March/Geralyn Dawson:
Any from her Callahan Family series
Any:
JoAnn Ross, Susan Mallery, Brenda Novak, Catherine Anderson books
Hope this is helpful.
Tymber Dalton is a fav of mine. The Reluctant Dom is my most favorite book of hers. Then the Love Slave series. Then her Triple Trouble wolf series.
:-)
Wow I have tons of good authors that I have on my must read list. I hope you give a few of them a try because they are all wonderful! And they all have books on Amazon.
Airies, Rebecca – She writes fantasy and science fiction with Elora’s Cave.
Ashbury, Morgan – She has a wonderful sense of humor and writes contemporary stuff for Siren
Bell, Dana Marie – Shifters and PNR
Boese, Theolyn – I think of this as PNR in space. She writes for Loose ID.
Dohner, Laurann – Great Science Fiction! Ral’s Woman is about a girl kidnapped by aliens for breeding. She also has one western and one werewolf book w/ Elora’s Cave and from what she has posted on facebook more on the way.
Kane, Samantha – OK I know you said no regency but OMG very hot stuff and not your normal regency stuff.
Rainier, Heather – I just read Divine Grace and I Loved it! Its about a BBW and 3 wonderful men who love her. It also sounds like she has another 4 or 5 books coming out in this story line so lots to look forward to. She writes for Siren.
Rogers, Mora – PNR/Werewolves
Sinclair, Cherise – Master of the Mountain is just amazing! She writes for Loose ID.
Wynn, Zena – Shifters and werewolves – Mary and the Bear is my favorite.
I know this is a lot of authors but really only a few of my must reads. Good thing my husband does not mind my reading habits.
Wendy
I suggested Cherise Sinclair also.. her Masters of the Shadowlands series is my favorite.
Sorry Chrissie I was so busy putting my list together I did not check to see what everyone elase had posted. I see that a few others from my list have also been posted by others. I guess that we all have good taste
Yep great minds think alike. I love this list of everybody’s reads some I love and some I’ve never heard of. This was a great blog challenge I think. Nobody looses.
Anything by Sophie Oak (Shayla Black was pimping her books recently and I’ve bought them all) they’ll all Siren Publishing ebooks. D/s & menage stories – extra hot !!! Rock me by Cherrie Lynn – bad boy with tattoos and piercings nuf said. Cooper McKenzie – shifter romance.
I don’t think I saw her mentioned but my new favorite author is Kathryne Kennedy – Two that I read and loved: Beneath the Thirteen Moons and the Fire Lord’s Lover. I guess you would call them romantic paranormal/fantasy. I couldn’t put either one down and highly recommend them :)
She is BANNED from sales on Amazon because they can’t handle her heat, but I love Selena Kitt.
Sorry, but I think it’s wrong to censor someone.
Her Baumgartner Family series of books is awesome: Meet the Baumgartners, Babysitting the Baumgartners, A Baumgartner Reunion, Baumgartner Generations: Janie, and Baumgartner Generations: Henry… love them all.
Chrissie I like Selena Kitt too. Yeah I don’t agree with the whole censorship thing. I figure if you don’t like it don’t buy it. I love The Baumgartners I haven’t read the Generation ones yet but they are in my TBR pile.
where can i get her books?
They actually are for sale still on Amazon but they did pull some of her books for their taboo topics. Happy Accident is another good story by Selena.
Two of the stories they pulled she re-wrote so they have different names and no more taboo stuff in them.
You can get some of them on Fiction wise site.
Hello Maya,
I’d love to recommend my friend and excellent writer, debut author Margaret Ethridge. Her book “Paramour” just got published by Tourquoise Morning Press which is a small press company. Her ebook format of “Paramour” is coming out in just 9 days. The book and ebook are available on Amazon as well as many other book buying sites.
I read the “Paramour” copy before it was published (so I can vouch for its awesomeness) and it’s one of my new all time favs. Here is her snippet.
“Camellia Stafford has never been alone in her room. For twenty years, she’s been engaged in a fierce power struggle with her bedroom’s previous tenant, Frank DeLuca, the ghost trapped in the light fixture above her bed.
Caustic and cranky, Frank admits to one soft spot: Cam. Over the years, their feelings for one another evolve from grudging friendship to an enduring love that burns white-hot until he puts his feelings for her on ice.
Cam returns home to say good-bye to her beloved father and must confront her feelings for Frank. She finds an unexpected shoulder to lean on in sexy neighbor, Bradley Mitchum.
Cam falls hard and fast for the handsome ad man’s charming smile and passionate nature, but Brad’s easy-going exterior masks a steely backbone tempered by adversity.
Two men: one living, one dead, and both vying for her love. Now, Cam must determine if her heart is strong enough to choose which dream could lead to a love to last a lifetime.”
I hope you consider to give it a try. I am a long time lover of your books (as I have them all) so I would never dare to recommend anything but excellent to you.
Take Card, MichelleKCanada
Maya, I meant to bring up Monica Mccarty -she writes sort of like Julie Garwood and I adore JG. I remember you saying you like her so I recommend Monica Mccarty
Here is a blurb for her most recent book, The Ranger: A Highland Guard Novel :
Chosen to help Robert the Bruce in his quest to free Scotland from English rule and claim his crown, the legendary team of warriors known as the Highland Guard battles on.
Embedded deep behind enemy lines, Arthur “Ranger†Campbell is prized for his razor-sharp senses and his ability to blend into the shadows. But when Arthur infiltrates the clan of the chieftain who murdered his father, his heart is locked on revenge. Inside he faces unexpected resistance from the sweetest of obstacles—a honey-haired siren who is his enemy’s daughter.
Intrigued by this ruggedly handsome newcomer to her father’s forces, the vivacious, enchanting Anna MacDougall is a woman whose skill at uncovering deception rivals Arthur’s own. Though yearning for a quiet life with a good man to love, Anna is drawn to this mysterious knight whose eyes devour her but whose words push her away. As danger, treachery, and the threat of looming war draw them closer into each other’s arms, a warrior made of steel must make a choice from the heart: love or revenge.
Another great author who writes in a paranormal vide is Alexandra Ivy and her most recent book is Devoured By Darkness-I read that book and devoured that in like 58 min flat @ wk. I couldnt put it down, thats how good it was-here is its blurb:
Tane is a Charon, sworn to hunt and kill rogue vampires. His new assignment seems like a waste of his talents–until he catches up with the jinn he’s been sent to capture. Half human, half demon, Laylah has a vulnerable streak that strikes right through to Tane’s cold heart. He should be furious when she uses her powers to bind them together, preventing him from dragging her before the Commission. Instead he welcomes any reason to stay close enough to touch, to taste, to seduce. . .
Laylah doesn’t know why she was chosen to protect a child who may be the catalyst in a war between good and evil. But the mysteries of her past pale compared to the dangers approaching. Tane is devastatingly strong, breathtakingly sensual. And Laylah will have to trust in every ounce of that strength, because her enemies are drawing near, eager to destroy them both. . .
And I like Angie Fox. She has a paranormal romance series-the lastest one is only available on kindle. I am going to include book 1 blurb and book 4 blurb. Its got laughter and romance going all thru the books and thats what makes it unique-not so serious and the pace of the book is good, not slow or clunky like some ive read of late..
book 1 The Accidental Demon Slayer –
Prim and proper preschool teacher Lizzie Brown is on the verge of her thirtieth birthday when her hitherto unknown grandmother shows up, quickly followed by a demon erupting out of her toilet who Lizzie surprisingly manages to blast into “a million flecks of light.†Raised by distant adoptive parents, Lizzie had no idea that she was born to be a demon slayer. Her granny, a biker who communes with spirits in a metal lawn shed, then takes her to join her coven of senior biker witches who will help her defeat the demons who want to kill Lizzie before she can go after them. Along the way, Lizzie meets sexy shape-shifter Dimitri Kallinkikos, a sometime griffin who claims to be her protector but may have a hidden agenda that will take her straight to hell. This rollicking paranormal comedy will appeal to fans of Dakota Cassidy, MaryJanice Davidson, and Tate Hallaway
book 4 The Last of the Demon Slayers ::
The latest from New York Times bestselling author, Angie Fox:
Lizzie Brown would just like to have one normal date. Instead, she gets a towering inferno with a message: her long-lost dad is a fallen angel in danger of becoming a demon. Not good. Especially since she’s a demon slayer.
Her grandma advises her to stay out of it. Her sexy-as-sin shape-shifter boyfriend would much rather she devote her attention to more carnal pursuits. And her dog’s one demand is for more bacon. After all, he can’t train his pet dragon on an empty stomach.
But Lizzie knows there’s no other choice but to hop on her Harley and help her father—even the search for the truth brings a bad-boy slayer back into her life and leads her into the middle of a war to end all wars.
I second Marie Force and her Fatal Series. The series has it’s 2 main romantic couple through the whole and upcoming books.

Judy_L beat me to it. I am also currently reading Liberating Lacy by Anne Calhoun. Great reading. I am enjoying The Iron Duke By Meljean Brook. And Comfort Object by Annabel Joseph, Butterfly Tattoo by Deidre Knight. And I’m reading Seven Day Loan by Tiffany Reisz. I was drawn to it based on her blog post.
WyndRiver Sinner by Charlotte Boyett-Compo…..WesternWind series.

He’s hot, tired, dusty and not in the best of moods when he happens upon a young woman being attacked. Taking lives comes easy to Cynyr. Living one is another matter. Always keeping his distance from others, he is stunned to realize he doesn’t want to let Aingeal leave him.
When a man named Cynyr decides to make a woman named Aingeal his own, no man will ever take her from him.
I love anything from Lynsay Sands, Gena Showalter, Christine Feehan these are my fave. You can check out Bronwyn Green – Maggie’s Mates, or Brynn Paulin – Play well with others. You can find all these and more @ Allromanceebook.com
Maggie’s mates is about- Having recently ended a bad relationship, Maggie Ryan returns to her hometown in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to discover things aren’t quite the way she remembers. Her childhood friends, Quinn and Lucas Makwa, are all grown up and keeping secrets. The shape-shifters want Maggie for their mate
Probably one of my favorite books of all time is Forbidden Pleasure by Lora Leigh. I have already had to replace it once. I don’t know if you read her, but her books are fantastic. Forbidden Pleasure blurb:
The Club is private, exclusive and only for those men whose fantasies run to the more forbidden side. . . People have heard only fleeting rumors about The Club. Located just outside Washington, D.C., only its members know where men go when they want to indulge the desire to share their women with a carefully selected male partner. Former FBI agent John ‘Mac’ McCoy resigned his membership from The Club when he married Keiley Hardin. Tempting and innocent, sweet and sexy, she would never accept Mac’s desires to share her with another man. However, Keiley’s growing curiosity and Mac’s own fantasies of sharing his wife haunt his dreams. And his passions.Unable to wait any longer, Mac invites his best friend Jethro Riggs, to their home with the intention of drawing Keiley into the pleasures that can only be achieved when two men love the same woman. But there’s more going on in Mac’s neck of the woods than a little additional pleasure. A past case involving a stalker who likes to play games has shown up again, but now Keiley is in the middle of it all. Passion and pleasure, danger and desire combine as the forbidden becomes an addiction none of them can escape.
Kate Douglas is another favorite of mine with her Wolf Tales series and Demon Slayers series. Here is a blurb from Wolf Tales V one of my favorites in the series:
Two Couples, One Wicked Passion. Welcome To The Wild Side Of Love…
Life hasn’t always been easy for strong-willed Millie West, but it’s been a hell of a lot simpler without romantic entanglements. Millie finds her pleasure when and where she wants it, although what she’s gotten from regular guys has never been quite enough. When she meets Ulrich Mason, she finally learns why. Imbued with the sexual prowess of the Chanku pack, Ulrich is the perfect partner to help Millie embrace the birthright that has been denied her for too long. But will the very ritual that binds them in ultimate pleasure reveal secrets that could destroy them both…?
Like his pack brother, Baylor Quinn is on a mission to bring a Chanku female into the fold—but his quarry is far wilder than any he has yet encountered. Caught in a feral limbo between woman and wolf, Manda is scarred by the cruelty of a world that has never understood her. It will take patience, compassion, and the healing hand of a master lover to help Manda embrace her own sensual powers—and the mate who loves her beyond measure…
Jacquelyn Frank is another author I really enjoy. Here’s the blurb from one of my very favorite books of hers, RAPTURE, The Shadowdwellers – Book 2:
The Shadowdwellers live in a realm of darkness and sensuality, where order is prized and sin must be punished. Yet for Magnus, the head priest of Sanctuary, salvation rests with the one woman who will entice him into breaking his every rule…
SHE WAS HIS ULTIMATE TEMPTATION
Magnus is a man of contradictions—a spiritual leader in a deadly warrior’s body. Rules and order are for enforcing and visions must be followed—even if that means freeing a beautiful slave and making her his reluctant handmaiden. But she isn’t the only unenthusiastic partner. Betrayed once before, Magnus can barely bring himself to trust another woman.
Yet everything about Daenaira’s fiery innocence compels him time and again to cross every line he’s ever drawn for himself.
Daenaira grew up hearing tales of the fearsome priest named Magnus. But no one can convince her that men of honor truly exist. She soon learns that Magnus is very real—every inch of him—and so is the treachery that surrounds them. Beneath Sanctuary’s calm surface, an enemy is scheming to unleash havoc on the Shadowdwellers, unless Magnus trusts in a union ordained by fate, and sealed by unending bliss…
Deborah Cooke’s Dragonfire series is also great. Here’s a blurb from the first book in the series, Kiss of Fire:
When ace accountant Sara Keegan decides to settle down and run her quirky aunt’s New Age bookstore, she’s not looking for adventure. She doesn’t believe in fate or the magic of tarot cards, but when she’s saved from a vicious attack by a man who has the ability to turn into a fire-breathing dragon, she questions whether she’s losing her mind – or about to lose her heart.
Self-reliant loner Quinn Tyrrell has long been distrustful of his fellow Pyr. When he feels the firestorm that signals his destined mate, he’s determined to protect and possess Sara, regardless of the cost. Then Sara’s true destiny is revealed and Quinn realizes he must risk everything – even Sara’s love – to fulfill their entwined fates.
I hope these are helpful to you and Happy Reading!
Have you ever read any of Lorelei James alter ego Lori Armstrong Books. I loved the Julie Collins Series, there are only 4 books in the series. She is awesome. There’s romance, mystery, sex and a very stong determined woman who of course will have a stong determined man making her melt. The series starts with Blood Ties followed by Hallowed Ground, Shallow Grave, and finally Snow Blind. Well Enjoy!!!
Lori Armstrong’s newest mystery series is fantastic….No Mercy followed by Mercy Kill. Mercy Kill releases next week.
A few of my favorites and why:
THe Dom’s Dungeon by Cherise Sinclair – I LOVE all of her books, but this is my favorite because I can relate to the heroine and the way her messed up childhood alters her perceptions and self worth. And her knight in shining armor just ROCKS! :)
Table for Three by Laine Reese – OMG! This one I could read again and again – hot menage – super hot alpha men – lots of suspense – just an amazing overall story. VERY well written.
Hurt Me So Good by Joely Sue Burkhart – this is not a book I would have bought based on the description. I am not so much into the SM side of BDSM – it usually makes me cringe. But luckily I won this in an on-line contest. OMG – it was SOOO good. The writing was amazing – I can’t even describe it. The characters were so real and honest and it was all done in such a tasteful way. Blackraven reviews did a great review of this one on goodreads that expresses what I can’t seem to on this book.
These three books are right now my go-to books when I feel like I need to curl up with an old friend that I know I will enjoy! Even with a TBR pile of almost 400 books, I will re-read these periodically just because I can’t be without them for too long!
I love series romance. So I recommend reading “Private Confessions” by Lori Borrill. It is the first book she had published for Harlequin Blaze and is still my favorite. I have read it several times. It has a “You’ve Got Mail” kind of thing going on, but spicier. Logan Moore is one of my favorite Blaze characters! He is a yummy treat. The virtual scenes that he created during their online time took my breath from me.
I have all of Borrill’s Blazes and they are a great set of books to get hooked on reading. If you haven’t already run across her books I highly recommend “Private Confessions”!
And I checked, it is available for the Kindle for just $3.25. You can’t go wrong.
One of my new favorite authors is Lillian Feisty and i recommend Bound to Please and Dare to Surrender. Both are hot and sexy!
Dirty by Megan Hart is a favorite and is very emotional and intense but SOOOOOO good. It is written in first person which I thought I wouldn’t like but it hooked me from the start.
Slow Hands by Leslie Kelly was a great read, plus its free on Kindle. I got it because it was free but it was HOT and it made me go out and check out more of her books because I wanted to read more from her.
I know you said you didn’t want historicals but I just read The Debutante’s Dilemma by Elyse Mady and was blown away! It’s short and sooo well written. It’s my first from Carnia Press that I’ve read. TRY IT!
Anything by Cherise Sinclair her Shadowland Series and Master of the Mountain Series are the best. Also, anything by Beth Kery, Daring Time, Explosive, Release are just a few of her books to read.
Shayla Black sent me Release by Beth Kery to read so I have it in the TBR pile.
Siren’s Call by Devyn Quinn !
the next book will be out feb 1st :)
here’s something from this book ;
Between desire and love there are some things that can’t stay buried, even in the deep of the ocean.
As a woman with a secret, lighthouse keeper Tessa Lonike savors her solitude on the island of Little Mer, off the coast of Maine. During a violent storm, Tessa spots a man thrashing in the ice cold waters and dives in to save him, using her ability as a mermaid to easily pull him to shore.
When Kenneth Randall awakens on the beach he is alone, left with the haunting memory of his beautiful, flame-haired savior. But a year later, when Kenneth meets her again, he’s determined not to let Tessa slip away. Just as the desire between them begins to burn, Tessa’s archaeologist ex-lover comes back to town with a tantalizing clue to her murky heritage.
The trio travel to the Mediterranean in search of answers, and when Tessa inadvertently opens an underwater portal they find a lost mermaid city. But in the deep, not everything is as it seems, and Tessa must decide if she wants to take her place as the royal heir, or follow the call of her heart…
forgot to put the title of the next book ;
it’s “Siren’s Surrender”
I really enjoyed The Satin Sash by Red Garnier. Shayla Black was giving this book away a while back and everybody who had read it was giving such good reviews that I had to buy it.
Here is the blurb from her website:
Business partners Grey Richards and Heath Solis are best friends, even though they’re as different as night and day. Grey is calm, confident, and always in control. Heath is as passionate as his smoldering looks. No woman can resist them, and it’s always been easy to share. Until now…
Grey is head over heels in love with Antonia Kearny, a woman whose luscious body enflames his senses and whose playful, willing spirit captures his heart. He’ll do anything to see her smile, to hear her breath catch, to make her scream his name. And when he realizes that Toni wants another man—and that it’s Heath—he’ll make the ultimate sacrifice…
On a decadent weekend in Mexico, Toni will experience the hunger, the touch, the taste of two men. But will her desire bring them together, or tear them apart?
Three nights, three lovers, and one choice that may destroy them all.
The Satin Sash was a great read – I loved it!
Anything by Julie James…my favorite is Something About You
Staying overnight in a luxury hotel, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde overhears a high-profile murder involving a U.S. Senator. Special Agent Jack Pallas is assigned to the investigation-the same Jack Pallas who still blames her for nearly ruining his career three years ago. Now the pair will have to put their rocky past behind them, focus on the case at hand-and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension.
Also, anything by Jill Shalvis…Simply Irresistible is her most recent (and she has a new book coming out on 2/1- Animal Magnetism)
Simply Irresistible-In this heartwarming and sexy contemporary romance, Maddie Moore meets the man of her dreams, but must fight her inner demons to make it work. Maddie, straight out of an abusive relationship and unemployed, is trying to change “from mouse to tough girl.” When she arrives at Lucky Harbor, Wash., to reunite with her two half-sisters and inspect the dilapidated inn inherited from their mother, Maddie nearly runs a handsome stranger off the road. Jax Cullen is the town’s mayor, a master carpenter, and a passionate lover. He’s willing to give Maddie everything if she can overcome her fear of men and vulnerability. A somewhat forced second half and overabundant telepathic eye contact are mitigated by an abundance of chemistry, smoldering romance, and hilarious sisterly antics.
Animal Magnetism- Co-owner of the town’s only kennel, Lilah Young has lived in Sunshine, Idaho, all her life. Pilot-for-hire Brady Miller is just passing through. But he soon has Lilah abandoning her instincts and giving in to a primal desire.
It’s Brady’s nature to resist being tied down, but there’s something about Lilah and her menagerie that keeps him coming back for more.
I just finished Against The Wind by Kat Martin (book 1 in her Raines of Wind Canyon series…there are 3 books, book 2 out in February and book 3 out in March)and I really liked it! :)
here is the blurb….
Secrets don’t stay buried long in cattle country. Sarah Allen, the beautiful girl who humiliated Jackson Raines in high school, is back in town. Not so long ago, she couldn’t wait to leave Wind Canyon, Wyoming, in her dust. But, recently widowed, she has nowhere else to go and finds herself on Jackson’s ranch. And despite everything, Jackson’s finding himself reluctant to get rid of her.
Sarah brings her own kind of trouble, and he can’t resist trouble. Enemies of her dead husband show up making threats, thinking she has something they’re owed. They’re not taking no for an answer, but what they will take is the one thing she has left—her daughter. Jackson’s the only one who might be able to save little Holly and bring her home.
I recently read Dee Tenorio’s “Shaken” and really enjoyed it. It was short, erotic and emotional.
I also thought “A Table for Three” by Lainey Reese was really hot. Smokin menages that include two very dominant males! (BTW…found these on samhainpublishing.com)
Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa Medeiros
Abigail Donovan has a lot of stuff she should be doing. Namely writing her next novel. A bestselling author who is still recovering from a near Pulitzer Prize win and the heady success that follows Oprah’s stamp of approval, she is stuck at Chapter Five and losing confidence daily. But when her publicist signs her up for a Twitter account, she’s intrigued. What’s all the fuss?
Taken under the wing of one of her Twitter followers, “MarkBaynard”—a quick witted, quick-typing professor on sabbatical—Abby finds it easy to put words out into the world 140 characters at a time. And once she gets a handle on tweets, retweets, direct messages, hashtags, and trends, she starts to feel unblocked in writing and in life. After all, why should she be spending hours in her apartment staring at her TweetDeck and fretting about her stalled career when Mark is out there traveling the world and living?
Or is he?
The Mating by Nicky Charles(I found this and its sequel The Keeping at smashwords)
Elise had no idea when she came home that day that she’d end up mated to a complete stranger. A new Alpha and the need for an alliance between packs have made her a pawn EXCERPT: She lay beside him, staring blankly at the ceiling. The deed was done. They were mated. It didn’t matter that she had no love for him nor he for her. Political alliances were more important than feelings…
Deliah’s Downfall by Melissa Schoeder(found at bookstrand.com)
Delilah Gonzales loves cowboys. She has from very early in her life. But, those in her hometown didn’t show much interest, or respect, so she has sworn them off. Plus, she always seems to fall head over heels for them and they always seem to leave. That’s before she gets hired as the Bartlett Ranch’s cook and housekeeper. When she is faced with not one, but four, gorgeous brothers, she finds herself reevaluating her cowboy ban.
The Bartlett Brothers have been looking for a woman for all them. They each have different needs, wants, and Delilah seems to be the one to fill them all. But, when she is faced with choosing them over her family, will she stand up to her overbearing brothers, or leave the brothers with broken hearts?
Play Dirty by Lori O’Clare its the first in her new Bounty Hunter series.
That was a good one. Looking forward to the next one this year.
Seeing Eye Mate and Checkmate Book 2 Mate Series by annmarie mckenna love her books! I never get ride of books that I love and she will be another auther that I will keep along with you, lora leigh and lorelei james.
Cindy Jacks – All the Good Men… This book had me laughing at the main characters Father and her dates! Blurb: Dahlia is sure the hackneyed platitude is true: After a certain age, all the good men are married or gay. She feels her thirty-eight years put her well past that ‘certain age.’ Her best friend and her sisters dare her to put her fate where her mouth is. The terms of the challenge? During the month of October, she has to end her five-year-long man fast and go on dates with men of their choosing. Oh, and she also has to go out with anyone else who asks.
As the date disasters pile up, the vindication almost makes the torturous evenings bearable for Dahlia. But a handsome new neighbor, Jackson Carmichael, moves in, changing the rules of the game. Retired after twenty-six years as a pro firefighter in Boston, he volunteers with the local fire department, coaches a youth hockey team, and appears for all the world to be the perfect man. He just might throw a wrench into Dahlia’s plan to die lonely and single…that is if she doesn’t scare him away first.
Tabitha Shay has become one of my favorite authors. Tabitha also rights under Jaydyn Chelcee. Witch’s Fire is her paranormal romance.
Under Jaydyn Chelcee she has the Montana Men Series… these books take more twist and turns… the men are hot! There are four books and #5 coming soon. The first book has gotten great reviews. Blurb In the Arms of Danger: Every woman needs a little danger in her life. Lacey Weston, too, but what’s perilous about a wildlife shoot in the beautiful Montana wilderness? Armed with only a camera, Lacey treks through the rough terrain and captures more on film than she bargains for–the murder of a young woman.
Fearing for her life, Lacey flees the scene and stumbles into the small, prairie town of Rimrock, straight into the path of a man who strongly resembles the murderer. Sheriff Danger Blackstone, with his piercing gray eyes and rugged physique could be the man in her undeveloped pictures.
With no where else to run or hide, Lacey must decide if she dares to trust her life to the only person who can protect her–one with an apparent grudge against Anglo females which makes him less than approachable–the very man she suspects of murder.
Sandy Sullivan – Her Wild series has four books. The first one is Wild Wyomning Nights. I reviewed all four books, for siren book reviews. The first book had me crying by page 5. blurb Abigail Carter lost her firefighter husband on September

overcome the past and have a future together?
Bronwy Green – Cuffed and Dangerous (menage) nice quick easy read… blurb: When a bounty claim becomes a fight of five against one, Jude Caulfield and Gideon Wells step in to help hunter, Wrenn Saunders, before she’s mortally injured. Wrenn soon learns that three is a good number whether in a fight or in the bedroom. Especially in the bedroom—and that’s just where Jude and Gideon want to keep her.
Amarinda Jones – Male Me HOT menage, in a bar bathroom, back seat of a car during lunch, on the deck under the stars… blurb: After Delaware Brooks sends a silly email about what she’d like the new boss to do to her, she’s called into the boss’s office. The punishment? Every hot, sexual craving she’s ever had, fulfilled. But Templeton McAdam isn’t the only new man in her life. His best friend, Speed is invited to enjoy Delaware, much to her surprise and excitement. Two men. One woman. Their only desire is to please her.
Intense pleasure is one thing, but is it wrong to enjoy both men? What would a good girl do? And should she be falling in love with them so fast? But sudden love isn’t the only problem Delaware has. Someone is watching her every move and planning on teaching her a lesson.
Too Much Temptation by Lori foster. Shoot here are a few more by her….Never too much Temptation, Jamie, say No to Joe..the list can go on forever!
I ran across this author on a fluke while searching books on Amazon and I loved both her books made me cry and laugh. Now both these books are strictly romance books but still hold a high standing n my books. Authors name is Elisa Lorello the first book is called “Faking it” and the sequel to it is “Ordinary World” there were both a steal at $0.99 on Amazon when I picked em up they have since jumped up to $2.99. These are two great books that I highly recommend. I also came a crossed an author named Heather Killough-Walden who’s vampire love story was amazing so different then the normal vampire type book out and such a great love story “The Third Kiss : Dorian’s Dream”. Well these are my recommendations I wanted to try and give you authors that maybe you had never heard of and I hope I did and that you enjoy these as much as I did :)

Book 2 they try to enhance a sex drug and two different scientist have go at it this too. Sexy steamy sex. I cant tell too much it give away the spoilers.
Michelle
I recommend Angels Blood by Nalini Singh it is about a vampire hunter and a archangel gone bad that she has to track.
It was very good.
Hi Maya!! Well I don’t know if you have read them or not but my all time favorite books are from the wonderful mind of J.R. Ward. Her Black Dagger Brotherhood series is a paranormal romance roller coaster ride! The Black Dagger Brotherhood are highly trained vampire warriors. These warriors are all tall, strong (very muscular), and virile (YUM). They have to be to defend their race against the evil Lessening Society, who are an order of slayers converted from humans into souless killers to eradicate all the vampires. Each book is about a member of the Brotherhood and shows their strengths and their curses on the path to defending their race and finding love (their mate) in the process.
The books are jam-packed with hardcore fights, steamy love scenes, each warrior dealing with their own demons and non-stop action. J.R. Ward is an excellent writer with great character developement. She has created such a wonderful world! The first book in the series is Dark Lover. Read it! You will not be disappointed! The 9th book in the series comes out March 29th so you have plenty of time to catch up!!! If you are still not sure about wanting to purchase, you just send me your addy and I’ll let you borrow mine! But you have to give it back : ) I’ve made a believer out of my cousin and hopefully I can make a believer out of you also!
P.S. It may not sound like a romance book, but believe me, it is. When one of those big, hulky warriors allows himself to be open for love…they let the flood gates open. You will not lack for romance I promise you! And I also belive all the Black Dagger Brotherhood books are available in ebook format if you’d rather do that than buying the book. Happy Reading!!

The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton
Love hurts… if you’re lucky. Kaden knows he’s dying, but before he goes he has one problem he needs to solve – he must ask his oldest friend, Seth, to take over as his beloved wife’s Dom and Master after his death. Seth has always seen himself as a perpetual screw-up, and Kaden as the strong and steady one, so his friend’s request rocks his world. Now Seth finds himself in a role he’s far from comfortable with: inflicting pain to provide emotional comfort for the woman he’s secretly loved for years. Can he deal with his crushing grief and master the skills he needs in time to become THE RELUCTANT DOM?
This is one of the most emotionally compelling books I’ve ever read. The characters are well developed, and there are enough twists to keep the story from becoming predictable. Keep the Kleenex handy for this one!
And when you’re done, you’ll need something light-hearted to read, so try Shelley Laurenston’s Magnus Pack or Pride Stories series. Extremely well done shifter romance with lots of humor!
Suzanne Brockmann- Tall,Dark and Dangerous series
Sandra Hill- Cajun series or Jinx series
Cherry Adair- Cutter Cay series or The Wright Family series
Sarah McCarty- Shadow Wranglers series or Wild Anthology books
Lacey Alexander- I’ve only read some of her single title books but they are good and steamy ;)
I hope you find something that you enjoy as much as I have enjoyed them, happy reading!
Maya,
I have no idea if this book has been rec’d already, but this is a new author for me as well. Olivia Cunning has started a new series, “Sinners On Tour’ that has me laughing one minute, and looking for a fan to cool me off in the next. Her very original and imaginative sex scenes are smoking hot and emotional- a very heady combination, no? So if you haven’t gotten this book, check it out. I am panting in wait for the next.
OH–The book title is Backstage Pass and its by Olivia Cunning.
Have another great local author named Lynn Hubbard. I have read both books ” Run into the Wind”& “Desperado”. EXCELLENT BOOKS ! I truly could not put them down. Please support our local author and check her out. Lynn Hubbard. You will not be disapointed !
Dawn
I have filled up my own list from some of these comments!
I really enjoyed Vivian Arend’s Granite Wolves series from Samhain. The first has a deaf heroine, one has a clumsy hero, etc. Shifters and the series involves siblings and pack mates so you can catch up on former couples but each stands alone I believe.
Cynthia Eden’s Deadly Heat. Here is the blurb:
TWO BRILLIANT AGENTS
FBI Special Agent Monica Davenport has made a career out of profiling serial killers. But getting inside the twisted minds of the cruel and the sadistic has taken its toll: She’s walled herself off from the world. Yet Monica can’t ignore fellow agent Luke Dante, the only man who ever broke through her defenses.
ONE DREAM TEAM
Luke has the unique ability to put victims at ease…professionally, he and Monica made a perfect team. Now they’re reunited to catch a murderer who uses his victims’ deepest, darkest fears for sport – but their investigative skills aren’t enough. Luke and Monica will have to face the secrets from their past, the ones that terrify them the most, if they are to have a future together.
But can they catch a killer whose weapon is…DEADLY FEAR?
I read this book in one day and it was so good that my Facebook status the next day was that I read it and recommend it to everyone. It is so suspenseful that you are on the edge of your seat the entire time and the romantic parts are a great combination of sweet and sexy. Great read!!!
I also have read “Hotter after Midnight” by Cynthia Eden and that was amazing also. Here is the blurb:
A SEDUCTIVE NIGHTTIME WORLD
Dr. Emily Drake’s patients tend to be a little unusual. Instead of the typical therapist’s caseload of midlife crises and mother fixations, Emily treats vampires with blood phobias and sex-demons looking for meaningful relationships. But her gift for recognizing and healing the Other—those creatures of the night that most humans don’t even know exist—requires a few house rules. First: Never trust a shifter. Especially not one like Detective Colin Gyth whose gold-flecked eyes and predatory air make Emily realize how much she’s been longing to lose control…
A DARK AND DANGEROUS HUNGER
Colin can’t believe the doctor he’s been assigned to work with on the Night Butcher murder investigation is the one person who could expose his true identity as a wolf shifter. Smart, sexy, and stubborn as hell, Emily brings out the alpha male in Colin, unleashing a wild, heady desire that takes them both over the edge. But in the shadows, the Night Butcher waits…eager to spill Emily’s blood and taste her terror. And he’ll use any means to destroy her, including the one person she has grown to trust…
Amazing read!!!
I don’t know if Cheryl Brooks has been mentioned yet but she writes a veryy great series about aliens who are being hunted down. They have cat like features (Fangs, pointed ears, purring) and are great lovers *Wink wink* The first in the series is called Slave.
Anything by Sarah Mayberry–she’s written a bunch of Blazes and Superromances, and she’s just an amazing creator of characters and stories that ring true. Reading her stories is incredibly satisfying, and I have to pace myself so that I don’t get through it too quickly, although it’s very hard to stop once I begin. I do have a few of hers I re-read often, so in a pinch ;) My favorites include Anything for You (friends to lovers), Can’t Get Enough and Her Secret Fling (co-workers who despise each other), and Home for the Holidays. *sigh* Fortunately, she’s got a couple coming out this year!
Hey Maya,
Here are a few suggestions…
I Spy by Kate Johnson
“The British spy is elegant, suave and sophisticated. The British spy is not blonde, built, and confused.â€
But Sophie Green is, and she’s just been hired by a highly secret government agency. She drives a car the colour of bile and is obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She doesn’t know which end of the gun to fire from and her hair hasn’t been natural since she was twelve. But that’s not going to stop her from trying to save the day, once she figures out who to save it from.

Jinxed by Inez Kelley
When opposites attract, they are screwed three ways from Sunday.
Frannie learned the hard way that a McHottie doesn’t always equal marriage material. She’s happy with her vanilla life. She has friends, a career and a double-D-powered vibrator. Then Fate shoves her, literally, into Prince Charming’s lap. His declaration of love at first sight is cute—and spikes her bullcrap meter into the red zone.
——-
ParamatchDotCom by MK Mancos
A talentless witch, a deposed Greek god and one unusual matchmaking agency – can love be far behind?
Hope you enjoy… Happy New Year!
Sometimes you just need a good romance with a great laugh and a woman not afraid to give her man Heck…
Gail Koger.. JUST my Luck (a wonder full ebook) heres the blurb.
Chaos and disaster are Kaylee Jones’s faithful companions. A powerful psychic, it’s her job to protect Earth from alien predators who consider our world an all-you-can-eat banquet. Unfortunately, her success at killing these alien freaks puts her on their most wanted list and lands her in a prison cell. Her roommate? A very hungry vampire. Okay, he’s really a Coletti Warlord who decides to make her his mate. Doesn’t matter that she’s not willing and this mate thing means he owns her mind, body and soul. She’ll admit the sex is hot and the bossy jerk has agreed to save our world from annihilation. But, the bad news is, Warlords aren’t benevolent do-gooder types and there is a price for his help, our women. The really bad news is, her Warlord’s low-down conniving brother has joined forces with our alien freaks and now we have to stop them from destroying both our worlds!!
I also love Linda Mooney all her books are auto buys for me my favorite is Heart Fast a little something about the book:
They were the Guardians, sixteen special men and women with incredible powers who had sworn their lives to the protection of their galaxy, while upholding the laws of their world.
It was a world that, eons ago, had suffered a devastating plague that had rendered more than half its population unable to reproduce. As a result, in order to assure the survival of their species, the HandFast law was enacted. Every month, twenty couples were drawn by lottery. Couples whose sole purpose would then be procreation, the continuation of the species. For the length of one year, two complete strangers would follow the edicts of the HandFast, until the woman conceived. Once that was accomplished, the couple was no longer bound to each other, and they could go their separate ways while the child was given to a couple unable to bear children.
It was a cold and impersonal law, but it worked.
However, the Guardians were exempt from having their names drawn in the lottery. The very nature of their jobs, risking their lives day in and day out to protect their galaxy, precluded any thought of bearing children.
Which was why, when StarLight and Master Hunter heard their names called out to be HandFasted, their neat, orderly lives were turned upside-down. Gone was the comfortable companionship they’d known. Gone was the brother-sister working relationship and the friendship.
Now they would be forced into an intimacy neither had wanted, nor expected.
Neither would they be prepared for the overwhelming passion they would find in each other’s bodies, as well as in their hearts.
And things would only get more complicated and dangerous. Because their names had been deliberately placed on the lottery, and the drawing had not been a fluke. Instead, it was the first step in destroying their world and every Guardian living.
Try Leah Brooke on Siren publishing. I love her Desire, Oklahoma series. Stories are about men and women who live in the town of Desire, Oklahoma which was established as a town where ‘different’ relationships are the norm and tolerated. The men have a strict expectation from each other to protect all women of the town (and their relatives) as is estaqblished in the first book. You will see what I mean. But everything written by her has been enjoyable. So check her out!
Hi Maya!
One of my Fan’s expressed your “needs” to me so I would like to recommend my books. I am working on my forth. I started my own publishing co to publish them. They are available on kindle format as well as nook, apple and borders.
Run into the Wind by Lynn Hubbard
is not your usual romance. It introduces Sabrina who is a strong female character who retains her strength throughout the book.
After her family is killed her brother tries to control her life. She sneaks away and hides out as a boy. She meets Brock the new Sheriff and torments him so until she accidentally reveals herself.
Brock is shocked, angry and aroused (not all at the same time!)
I did lots and lots of research so everything is historically accurate and oh yeah did I mention it is very very spicy? Not mindless erotic sex but very sensual necessary sex.
You can read the prologue at my site: lynnhubbard.com
and definitely check out the hot guy on the cover! Leave a comment and say that Maya sent you!
A lot of the authors I read have been mentioned. I recently came across a newly published author by the name of Keri Ford. I really liked her writing style and the story felt fresh. I’m looking forward to reading more from her. Her first novella, Through the Wall, was published in December. Here is the blurb:
She doesn’t want wild and raunchy, just a little spice…
Stephanie Faulkner listens to her neighbor’s nightly sexcapades through her bedroom wall. What used to make her blush now has her reaching for her vibrator. But she’s had enough self-fulfillment and now wants the real thing.
He wants commitment and long-term, not a quick roll…
The only woman Parker Madison ever wanted for long-term was Stephanie…but she’s off-limits. He’s tried to find a substitute but there just isn’t another woman like her. Now that she’s available, if he gives her time to get over her ex-husband…will he finally get his long-desired chance?
Short-term doesn’t lead to long term. Or does it…?
But when Stephanie digs up the courage to ask Parker for something a little exciting and spicy, he nervously rejects her. Still, she sets out to get what she wants—a little sexcapade of her very own. No commitment. It’s just sex, right?
Parker knows he could never be satisfied with having Stephanie temporarily. But as she continues to tempt him and he finds it harder to resist, he begins to think short-term might be better than nothing at all. Unless he can convince her into more.
Some of my favorites are Leah Brooke’s “Desire, Oklahoma” series. Book 1 is Desire for Three. With her fortieth birthday approaching and a bad marriage behind her, Jessica Tyler wants a fresh start. Marriage left her an emotionless shell and she vows never to get involved with a man again. Giving in to her sister, Jesse agrees to visit her in Desire, Oklahoma. But Desire is a small town unlike any other. Dom/sub and menage relationships are the norm in a town where ranchers and cowboys adore and protect their women in ways that leave Jesse…fascinated. She’s first intrigued, then alarmed when two gorgeous over-protective brothers, Clay and Rio Erickson, rush to claim her for their own. Yanked from her protective shell, threatened by her ex, Jesse is determined to stay strong, even as her two formidable lovers are intent on possessing her. Will her independence be smothered or will love give her the strength to change all three of their lives forever? *** “I’ve always loved alpha males who know how to treat a woman. Of course, such men would have very strong ideas of what they want and how to get it. Those who are Doms or want a menage relationship may want to live where such things were the norm. And what woman wouldn’t want to live where they’re adored?” (Description taken from Amazon, they say it better than I can!!)
Really this is a great Dom/sub menage book. Actually the whole series is great. I love this type of book, and this one is one of best. It’s published by Siren Publishing, and you can get them either on Amazon or directly from Siren.
My favorite books, of course are yours, you are an awesome writer. I also enjoy Lora Leigh, Jaci Burton, and so many others. If you haven’t read Bella Andre’s “Hot As Sin”, and “Never Too Hot”, they are some good books to read. They are about two firefighter brothers stories of love and danger. In Hot As Sin, Sam has to help an old flame find her sister, while trying to keep Dianna, his past love, safe from the danger following them and his passion. In Never Too Hot, Connor, a wounded firefighter, goes to the mountains of the Adirondakes to rebuild the family cabin. When he gets there, there is a women, Ginger, who is there because she was burned by a different kind of fire. they both have sworn off the opposite sex, but as the hot summer on the lake grows even hotter, they find themselves sharing the cabin and a romance that engulfs them both. I hope you find something good and enjoy the reading, because I know that I do. Happy New Year!
Looks like you’ve got lots of potential reading to do. Can’t wait to see what you recommend.
My rec for you is ‘Breaking the Silence’ by Katie Allen. It’s a contemporary romance from Ellora’s Cave by an author who really deserves more attention than she’s gotten, and has become one of my favorites. The writing is excellent, and the characters really bring the story to life. There is a more detailed synopsis and reviews on amazon of both this and her other books. Hope you enjoy it!
I’ve been considering whether or not to add more info about the plot. Instead though, I’d urge you not to consider the plot; not that there’s anything wrong with it, it just isn’t what makes the book special. The characters and the emotion (funny to sad and everything in between) are what make the book stand out, and what bring me back again and again.
“Dear Sirs, I’m Yours” Joely Sue Burkhart (make sure to download 2 free reads from her site “Letter” as the prequel to this book & “Take Me” as the sequel). Usually it doesn’t make a difference, but trust me in this case, it does.
“Hurt Me So Good” Joely Sue Burkhart.
“Glutton for Pleasure” Alisha Rai.
Brothers In Arms Series by Samantha Kane, book 1 is “Courage to Love”.
Thanks I didn’t know about the free reads and I read that book and really liked it.
You’re welcome, Chrissie. I re-read them in sequence a couple of times & loved it. Hope you like them too.
I recently read the first book in a new series, L.O.S.T. (Last Option Special Team), from a new author, Karin Harlow, and I really enjoyed it.
The first book is Enemy Lover; the second book, Enemy Mine, comes out August 30, 2011.
Hope you like it!!! Heather
Since you said that you want everything, I recommend Kay Hooper.
She writes everything from contemporary romance to romantic suspense.
I recommend that you check out Once A thief, and Always a thief.
Oh, and the Bishop Novels of course.
ok….well I am going to list a few….really touching books for me. Outside of yours of course.

I loved this book because it really touched on the mental and emotional aspects of a true bdsm relationship. My heart truly did break. I a lot of people won’t get this book but I found it truly breathtaking.
The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton
You have probably already read this one but it bears mentioning. The emotional growth and development between all the characters is truly phenomenal. I cried from almost the beginning to the very end. The story covers a typical bdsm relationahip and has several scenes in which this part of their lifestyle is described in great detail.
If you haven’t read it already, I recommend Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey about a hero who’s never forgotten the first girl who broke his heart and now she’s back in his town…because she wants something from him. There’s lots of humor, the sexual chemistry between the h/h just sizzles, and loads of family interaction. Story center around hilarious family annual camping trip and atv rides wherein all the family members from the youngest grandson to the grandparents join in. I love this book! I hope you get a chance to check it out.
I’m going to list a couple that I find myself rereading often:

The Heir by Grace Burrows.
The Heir is a debut historical and so very good. Here’s my review of the book I posted to my blog.
From the back of the book:
THE DUKE’S OBSESSION
The Duke will stop at nothing to get his sons to marry and ensure the succession…
AN EARL WHO CAN’T BE BRIBED…
Gayle Windham, Earl of Westhaven, is the first legitimate son and heir to the duke of Moreland. To escape his father’s inexorable pressure to marry, he decided to spend the summer at his townhouse in London, where he finds himself intrigued by the secretive ways of his beautiful housekeeper…
A LADY WHO CAN’T BE PROTECTED…
Anna Seaton is a beautiful, talented, educated woman, which is why it is so puzzling to Gayle Windham that she works as his housekeeper.
As the two draw closer and begin to lose their hearts to each other, Anna’s secrets threaten to bring the earl’s orderly life crashing down – and he doesn’t know how he’s going to protect her from the fallout…
I really loved this debut historical romance. The chemistry between Westhaven and Anna is amazing. I loved the way that this couple was written. The reader is given clues through the whole story about Anne and her secrets, but not enough that her past is blatantly obvious and I was a little surprised when it was revealed. The secondary characters really make this book perfect. I absolutely loved Westhaven’s brothers and his father. They are fantastically written, three dimensional, and really help move the plot along. I’m hoping that they get their own stories in the future.

Hi Maya!
I scanned through some of the posts and there are quite of few books that I totally agree if you have not read, you should try. ANYTHING by Shelly Laurenston if you like shifter stories. They are great! Donna Grant, Dark Sword Series, great! Leah Brooke, absolutely. Now, I don’t know if you read m/m but one book I can recommend is “Zero At The Bone” by Jane Seville. It is a GOOD book. It’s about a doctor who witnesses a murder and has to go into witness protection. A contract it taken out on him by a Mafia family and the hitman, who is blackmailed into accepting the contract, when he goes to kill the doctor cannot because deep down he’s a good guy. I know, a hitman a good guy?? They, the hitman and the doctor, end up on the run from the Mafia an various other people and while they are on the run, they end up falling in love. I’m telling you the book is good! You can find it on Amazon and it has great reviews. Another author who I would recommend is Stephani Hecht. She writes paranormal/shapeshifter/mm…She is good also. You can find her on Amazon, B&N, and Extasy books. I could go on and on about books. Hope this helps.
Happy Reading,
Rachel
Somehow I missed this thread yesterday and I see you already bought some great titles. I’d like to suggest Through My Window by Jayne Rylon, Triple Dare by Lexxie Couper and Compromising Positions by Jenna Bailey-Burke. Jayne’s story is a super hot short story told in first person (not usually my thing), but she made it work beautifully. Jenna and Lexxie are just fun! They write stories with humor that are sexy as all get out!
I have written those suggestions down and will read. I love some comedy with my erotic novels. I also belong to a chat group of authors and readers run by erotic author Kris Cook and we sure are hoping that you’ll come visit us one Wednesday for an hour to talk about your books online. We’re a fun group so beware whatever goes. A couple of my fellow chatters have read you and have suggested your books to the rest of us. I have the Wild Irish series on my TBP list when I go on my next shopping spree. Hope to see you as a guest author soon.
I really enjoy reading Anne Rainey’s books
She has a 4 book series about the Vaughn Family that are really enjoyed reading. I love the fact she writes stories with lots of emotions that are still very HOT.
The first book is Touching Lace- from her web site:
“Lacey Vaughn’s just found her boyfriend in the arms of another woman. Miserable and feeling less than confident about her sexual prowess, she pours out her heart to good buddy Nick. Luckily he has a solution that will benefit them both—sex lessons”.
Friends turned lovers romance
The other books (in order):
Tasting Candy, Taking Chloe and Tempting Grace.
Another author that I really enjoy reading is Robin Kaye.
She writes funny contemporary romance and she really makes me laugh.
Romeo, Romeo is her first book:
“Rosalie Ronaldi doesn’t have a domestic bone in her body … All she cares about is her career, so she survives on take-out and dirty martinis, keeps her shoes under the dining room table, her bras on the shower curtain rod, and her clothes on the couch …
Nick Romeo is every woman’s fantasy – tall, dark, handsome, rich, really good in bed, AND he loves to cook and clean…
He says he wants an independent woman, but when he meets Rosalie, all he wants to do is take care of her. Before too long, he’s cleaned up her apartment, stocked her refrigerator, and adopted her dog…
So what’s the problem? Just a little matter of mistaken identity, corporate theft, a hidden past in juvenile detention and one big nosy Italian family too close for comfort” …
I would suggest Charlotte Featherstone’s Addicted, which I think is a great historical: Friends since childhood, Anais Darnby and Lindsay Markham have long harbored a secret passion for one another. When they finally confess their love, their future together seems assured, sealed with their searing embrace.
But when a debauched Lindsay is seduced by a scheming socialite, a devastated Anais seeks refuge in another man’s bed while Lindsay retreats to the exotic East. There, he is seduced again—this time by the alluring red smoke and sinister beauty of opium.
Back home, Lindsay’s addiction is fed by the vogue for all things Oriental—especially its sensual pleasures—in fashionable London society. In his lucid moments, Lindsay still lusts after Anais, who can neither allow him near nor forget his smoldering touch. Tortured by two obsessions—opium and Anais—Lindsay must ultimately decide which is the one he truly cannot live without.
Also Molly Harper’s books, both paranormal and contemporary. Her first paranormal is Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs: Jane Jameson’s mama said there’d be days like this. Fired as the children’s librarian in Half Moon Hollow, Kentucky; broken-down car late at night. But mama didn’t think about the possibility of Jane getting shot by a deer hunter and left for dead. Or being made the undead by Gabriel Nightengale so she’d have a second chance at, well, life. Adjusting to life without chocolate and sunbathing—never mind a job—has its challenges, but sexy Gabriel is one major perk. If only she can figure out how to tell her parents about her new liquid diet. And who is trying to frame her for murder?
I highly recommend Pamela Clare’s, NAKED EDGE. It is romantic-suspense but the h & H are not the prototypical romance typecasts. Sexy, athletic park ranger Gabe Rossiter helps investigative report, Kat James, solve a murder amongst her Native people.
I have been reading romances (across sub-genres) for over 15+ years and I have never been surprised before. Pamela Clare surprised me. For real. In a great way. It’s a must read/keeper/top 5 pick of 2010 for me.
Hope you choose to read this one!! :)
Hey Maya, have you read Carolyn Brown’s Honky Tonk series:
I Love This Bar
Hell Yeah
My Give A Damn’s Busted
Honky Tonk Christmas
This series was a really fun read for me – lots of great fun characters, funny dialogue, fine romance. Really made me want to head west and experience a “true” Honky Tonk establishment. It’s set in a rural area of Texas, contemporary times so is “Country” but not just cowboys.

A Delicious Taboo
Jennifer Cole
Committed to one another and their union, Van Dansk and Calen Maxwell decide to spice things up by bringing a third into their bed. They intend to invite the lovely straight barmaid from the local gay/bi night club to join them in a ménage à trois. Their equally committed gay friends, Philip Weston and Jake Welland have the same intentions.
Melanie Drake has been secretly lusting over the seductive, teasing group of friends for six months. She’s not delusional, however; she knows her infatuation with the two homosexual couples is completely one-sided and is content to keep her ‘love affair’ with the four hunks exactly where it belongs — in her mind.
One night of alcohol indulgence leads the four men to proposition Melanie into going home with one lucky couple. She can’t choose one couple over the other, because in her fantasies Melanie has all four men in her bed, together.
But that’s just a fantasy, and fantasies aren’t real.
Or are they?

Just a few of my favorites that you might not have heard of. :D
Maya,
If you are still interested in some suggestion I have a few that han’t been mentioned.
I have to say that you erotic romances were the first one I have read and enjoyed. Since then I have tried Lauren Danes Brown sibling series… I surprising liked them.
Anything by Nora Roberts is great but some of my favorites are:
Private Scandals…. I have read this about 8-10 times I love the characters and the plot is very interesting.
Hidden Riches… Another I have read 6-8 times. THere is something about the ending that just makes me melt.
True Betrayals….Great storyline. Lots of love, romance, family strife, and the rest I won’t give away.
The Born In trilogy… lots of romance and laugh out loud fun.
The Dream Trilogy.. The friendship betweent he three women is incredible
All of these book I have read multpule times.
I am NOT a lover of historical romance novels, but I have one exception;
Lisa Kleypas
She writes 18th romance and the characters are fun. Many times they cross over into other books.
If you want a stand alone story to see if you like her writing try Suddenly You. For her 30th birthday Amanda hires a man to help her lose her virginity. Not everything goes as planned and Jack has become intrigued…
Again the Magic is another stand alone book and introduces the reader to Lord Westcliff (my favorite hero of all time; sorry) He is the older brother of the two women featured in this story.
The Wallflower series is about four friends who get togethr to help each other find husbands. Lord Westcliff is apart of the series.
The names of the books are: Secrest of a Summer Night, It Happened One Autumn, Devil in the Winter, and Scandal in Spring. There is also a followup novella A Wallflower Christmas.
I have read this series twice in one year and am lending them ou tto many of my friends.
I have shared you stories as well and am loking forward to #3 in the KGI series. I have lots of questions too.
Sincerely,
Randi Frankel
Hi Maya,
Wow! you have got lots of recommendations. I must say that I just finished reading “Colter’s Woman” & LOVED It! I am usually a Vamp Romance gal and wanted to spread my wings and read other romance novels.
I read the “Outlander Series” by Diana Gabaldon (the 1st book Outlander I got FREE on my kindle. From this series fan club your books were recommended. And now I am hooked.
If you’d like to venture into the world of Vampire Romance I recommend the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian. “Kiss of Midnight” is the first in the series. But “Kiss of Crimson” is my favorite. (I’ve read it 3 times and am now listening to an audio version-Italian vampires are just so sexy)

Thanks a lot for the article post.
Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog. A great read. I’ll definitely be back. Investment
I ordered your BURN signed book from my facebook and since then have read every one of your books I can get my hands on. I have read all the KGI series and wanted to know if there is one for Hancock;s
