Rain!

It’s raining this morning. One of those nice, steady downpours with just a hint of thunder in the distance. It’s a perfect day for staying in…. To bad I must go out!

I have some errands to run in preparation for an upcoming trip.  Hubby and I leave bright and early Saturday morning for five days in Vegas.  He and I are like kids at Christmas. We’ve both been super swamped with work and stress and we’re dying to get away and have fun, adult conversation, good food and lots of poker.

In other words, we’re both refilling very empty wells!

I need to charge my Kindle and of course browse Amazon to see if there are any titles I MUST HAVE for my trip, never mind I have something like 400 unread books on my Kindle. But what if I want to read THE ONE I don’t have on there?  It could happen you know.

Sort of like last night when I really wanted to reread a particular book and it was the ONLY ONE I couldn’t find on my bookshelf. Anywhere. It was gone.  And of course it had to be THAT BOOK. That’s the one I wanted to read, damn it.

I’ve started buying some of my absolute favorite rereads to put on my Kindle just for this sort of problem. I love my print books but damn they keep going missing!  Besides, who knows when the urge to reread will strike?  Might be when I’m in Vegas, or on a plane, or in the car.

Yes, obviously I’m ill. I can’t help myself.  But at least I’m not snorting drugs or something.  But if I could put a book up my nose, I would!

Holy cow, I am the same way with my Kindle. I have so many unread books on there, but I go crazy and have to get more, more, more! And it’s raining here, too (North Texas), and I need but don’t want to run errands.
I am so jealous that you’re going to Vegas, my all-time favorite playground. Play a few slots for me, please. And have fun!!!

I SO totally understand you. My mom and I are the same way. I have at least 50 print books on the bookshelf to read and many ebooks to read, but I am back on Amazon finding all the new released that I just HAVE to have. Earlier this week a book excerpt that I read sometime in the past got stuck in my head and I couldnt figure out what the title, author or anything was. It was driving me crazy. I had to find out what book it was and READ it!! Even though I had brand new books here to read. I do believe it is an addiction, but other than the pocketbook it aint hurtin no one.:lol2:

It is such a relief to hear someone else describe their reading as an addiction… I no longer feel so alone!

Although I *wish* I had 400 unread books on my Kindle. I’ve got over 500 currently, but I’ve read them all. (Including Sweet Seduction, which I just *loved* BTW.)

Allow me to enable… Cherise Sinclair’s Master of the Mountain just came out in ebook. It’s on my To buy list for this week!

    Enjoy your trip to Vegas!

I keep adding to my tbr pile and I’m waiting on my Kindle to arrive in the mail and have already started to load books into it. I think I’m going to get an SD card for it though so that I can keep more books.
It is an addiction but I figure its better than eating candy all day:hanging:

LOL, I must be in good company, then, because I’m ill in exactly the same way!!
I have ecopys and duplicate print copies of SO many of my fav books, just in case, lol.
If I want to reread, I want it to be THERE, or I buy it again.

I WANT an ereader desperately, but as a stay at home mom, I have to be careful what I spend, and I would rather spend the money on more books. The laptop isnt THAT uncomfortable and I could read on my blackberry if I HAD to. (if any of you are getting a new reader and cant figure out what to do with the old, I can give you my address. ;)). Cherise Sinclair, I havent heard of her. Need to check her out and add her to my list. Thanks a lot!!! :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Maya’s books. She was one of the first authors in this genre, that I read, and you know what they say about your first love. I am reading Sweet Seduction now and as always it is terrific. My only complaint, and it is very small mind you, is that I havent found a description of how Nathan or Julie look. I know they were probably decsribed in earlier books, but that was WAY too many books ago. I just cant get the picture right in my head without a description. Yes I am one of those needy readers with little imagination of my own. You gotta lead me along. ;0)

I’m a dreary weather loving girl, so waking up this morning to rain was fabulous, lol
And yes, you do sound like a Kindle addice, lol

If you’re ill, I’m at death’s door. :faint: I actually have to limit myself each month or I can’t pay for things…like food.

Wow it must be raining just about everywhere. It’s certainly raining here… in little ole New Zealand. Sigh, I wish I had a Kindle but they don’t sell them here yet. I got all excited when I heard about the new international one, but alas no, not New Zealand. STINK. Oh and by the way, have a great time in Vegas. Relax, unwind and breathe my friend !!!!
