The 4th book in the KGI series is Whispers in the Dark and it will release February 2012. It will feature Nathan Kelly.
The 5th book in the series releases August 2012 and is of yet untitled. It will feature Rio.
If you have questions about the series, I’ll be happy to answer them. Provided I can! I can’t promise to answer them all, but I will try to give you as much information as I can.

You answer a lot of my questions when I meet you last year at Lora Leigh’s book club. The only question I have are you going to give us updates on the people you have already written about.
Hi Maya…I read all 3 books of the KGI series in a day and a half and LOVE THEM! But to wait another year, I am going to be suffering through some massive withdrawal. I love this family, although Garrett is my favorite. I love that he is such a grouchy guy but so sweet and sensitive to the females in his family. I love how the interractions of the Kelly men with the Kelly chicks are developed more with each book.
One quick question: I know you plan to complete books for all the Kelly men. But are you also planning on books for many of the other team members of KGI?

So far, the boys are all matched up with women with no family and who have been victims in one way or another. Will any of the brothers ever end up with a chick who can kick butt and give him a run for his money? lol

Maybe I’ve missed it in my readings, but I’m curious as to the ages of the brothers and other characters. I know the “line up” of the Kelleys but I’m wondering as to their specific ages. :)
I was wondering the ages of the brothers myself and after Rusty has grown up maybe she and Sean Camerson could get together? What is the age different between them? I really love the Kelly books. I love the other team members too. Take care and keep writing.

I want Sean and Rusty to get together too! The fight so much their is no way they are not hot for each other….in fact I think there needs to be a kiss between the two in the next book!
Julie, I’m not sure how to answer your question because we obviously see the heroines differently. I personally feel that all three heroines are very kickass in their own right. I think Sophie is particularly fierce. So clearly our definitions of kick butt are different. I don’t go into a story planning a particular heroine because that feels very disingenuous. I don’t think to myself okay for this book I need a heroine who does A, B, and C. She has to work for the story and her circumstances. It took a lot for these three women to survive the experiences they did and I couldn’t point to a woman who went through the same things and survived and say sorry, you’re not kickass enough for me. Hope this makes sense. I don’t believe in a character who stays the same throughout a story. And not all women are perfect, awesomely capable human beings. I know I’m sure not!
As for future heroines, I can only say that *I* feel they are a perfect match for the heroes and at the end of the day, as a writer, that’s all I can do. Write the characters as I see them and then send them out into the world for better or worse.
The next two heroines in the series are sisters, Shea and Grace. Their heroes are Nathan and Rio. Both are resilient women with very special capabilities that I’m very excited to write about.

I didn’t mean they were weak women by any means. I just meant that they have been through some tough sh*t! It would be interesting to see one of the brothers with a woman who doesn’t need his protection or really his help. Who is an army vet or something of the sort. I think it would throw them for a loop! LOL

I actually really loved the way the heroines were wrote. That was one of my favorite things about the books. They were strong enough to assist in their own protection but feminine enough & smart enough to know, that they needed help. The men are absolutely perfect. Not too arrogant but plenty masculine and secure enough in themselves to go after what they wanted. I like the fact that you didn’t spend the whole book fighting them being a couple, though there were enough challenges to keep it interesting. And just the right amount of passion to make it perfect.
Monique, yes of course you’ll continue to see glimpses of the other family members and past characters if it’s organic to the plot and character growth. This is a very involved, large very close family and their lives are very intertwined. So you’ll definitely see more in future books :)

Sharon and Christine, In Sam’s book he is 36. Garrett is a year younger. Donovan two years behind Garrett. Ethan is two years behind Donovan and the twins are two years behind Ethan.
So at the START of the series, the ages are 36, 35, 33, 31 and 29
Now of course the ages change with each book as they grow older :)
Oh and as for Rusty. I know I’ve said this before but I have no immediate plans to write a story for her. I have to raise her, graduate her from high school and then send her off to college. She has a lot of growing up to do but she’s getting there :)
I just wanted to say that I really love the KGI series. It is also really interesting that I live in Hazel, Ky just 20 min. from paris landing and about 10 min. from Kentucky Lake. Shows you how small a world it is.

I’m more or less addicted to your Sweet Series and to KGI. So I hope you won’t end either of them in the forseeable future.Just wondering why amazone won’t be able to deliver Hidden Away in Europe till the end of March as it was released on the 1st in the US and on Kindle. That’s a bit frustrating.

Hi Maya …I am so disappointed. Why oh why can’t I get Book 1 in the KGI series on my Kindle? I can get 2 & 3 but not 1. When trying to purchase I am told this book is not available to residents of Australia. Four Play isn’t available to me either. I feel like I am being discriminated against (lol) for being an Australian. I hate that green box on the Amazon page and would prefer to see the orange one which allows me to buy your book. Hi Maya, I just love this series. It is one of the better if not the best series I have ever read. I love the inclusion of the whole family into each book please don’t ever stop doing that. I love the secondary story of Rusty in the first two books the produced some of my all time favorite scenes.
So Please, after you raise Rusty up please write her own happy ever after.

Did Donovan speak to you in reference to where his book would be in the series or is the order just intentional? Can you give us any tidbits on Donovan’s book at all?

Well the deal with Donovan is that I love his character very much so maybe I feel a little pressure for his story, I’m not sure lololol. I just haven’t had the RIGHT idea for him yet and I don’t want to just throw one together for him. I think he’s just not ready yet but Nathan was definitely screaming at me and so was Rio. I’m still not sure who book 6 is going to be about so maybe that one will be Donovan. No promises, though!
I have loved all of your books,but have to say I have fallen in love with the Kelly family.I don’t know if I can wait a year to read more KGI novels.I am so happy that I am not the only one who thinks Rusty and Sean would make a great pair and so would P.J and Cole.There is just enough fire and tension there to make them sizzle.

I love the KGI series actually all your books. Hidden Away is now my favorite. I was hoping for PJ and Rio but PJ and Cole works too or maybe Steele and PJ. Rusty and Sean when Rusty grows up somemore. I love the part at the school with Rusty and the brothers.

Just finished “Hidden Away.” Wow! I love Garrett & Sarah together. I love this family! Their interactions are just so touching and wonderful and they love each other so much!
Loved the scene with Rusty and her brothers at her school. My heart was as full as hers was. I would love to Rusty & Sean as a couple when she grows up. The one character that jumped out at me in this book was Steele. Any info about a book for him? Thanks!

Love your books SO much. Crying over the fact it will be almost a year before I get to “spend time” with this family again. Also bummed that Van’s story isn’t the next one or even the one after that. Life just isn’t fair sometimes.

Pardon me if this has been asked and answered, but why did all the brothers end up joining the military? Frank owns his hardware store and Marlene is a schoolteacher. Was Grandpa a WWII vet, perhaps? I just find it so striking that all boys ended up in the military and later running their own military consulting gig.

I don’t blame Rusty one moment for her jealousy, I too wish I were Rachel (except for the year of imprisonment/addiction… that not so much). Hi! I love your Sweet series, and I have to admit I was a little skeptical about this series at first, but I was curious so I picked it up. So far my favorite book is Hidden Away. I was wondering if you were planning to write a story for each of the guys. I noticed you have a lot going on so obviously it’s going to take a while but the characters are really growing on me. I’m really interested on reading about all of KGI members and Sean and Rusty who I also would like to see together. I got the impression they are not very far apart on age. I know Rusty has to grow up still so maybe by the time you’re done with all the other guys it will be her time. I’ve been out of the country for the last 5 months and it is almost impossible to pick up a book, let alone one that I want to read. lol Now that I’m back in the states I am catching up on my reading. I’m still a bit behind, but I’m catching up as quickly as I can. In the KGI series I was wondering a couple of things. How many books will be in this series? I see stories for just about every character, so how do you decide who you will write about next? Also, I was wondering about Rusty, will she have a story of her own as well? Well all I can say is that the KGI series has to be one of my favourite books. Once I opened a book it was very hard for me to put it down. Just a few questions, and I say sorry in advanced if they are being repeated.
– Will Van get a story? he needs a story, all his brothers are falling in love around him… basically he needs to get laid ;)

kinds regards to you, I got hooked on the KGI series, I dont know what it takes to write books , nevertheless I would love to see you put out more books than you are doing now especially if you are planning on writing about the others like Steele , Rio, Dolphin , Rusty , PJ, Cole , Terrance, and the others not to mention it’s only fair you do all the Kellys’. I have countless authors that I just want to eliminate the dead end ones , over the years it has always been the romance , with yours it the danger that calls to me . Could you write more than 2 books per year I would greatly appreciate it . Such a long wait.
I just wanted to say thank you for writing the KGI series. My Grandfater owns a bait shop in Cuba Landing, TN. It is the last place I saw my father before he died. As I read your series, I can “see” the landscape.
I love that you write romance with strong woman (each in their own way) in the story line. I am wanting on pins and needles to see what you do with PJ’s story considering I am also in a male dominated field of work.

Hi i have all of your KGI books and they are fantastic. when i get one of ur books its usually finished within 12 hrs of getting it- i love ur books that much. i really wish you would realease i few more books each year as i wait in suspense for the next one but hey they r really good books. anyway i wanted to know if you next book would be about P.J and Cole, they have to have to HAVE to end up together, their chemisty in the othe books is sooooo big it wld b a shame if they didn’t. hope u wld consider it.

I love the KGI series! I am not a fan of erotica, so I have not read your other books. But I absolutely love these books. I can’t wait until February, so I am rereading them all again. I am a romantic suspense lover, so this book fits right in. How about Long Road Home? Is that also Romantic Suspense?

I love the KGI series and the characters. Can I put in a vote for P.J. and Steel. I really would like to see them together. I would also love to see Rusty become the back up computer geek, giving her a place with in KGI. Sorry, it must be fustrating to have know it all fans tell you how to write your books. LOL You do such a good job of creating characters that we end up feeling like were a Kelly too and want a say in thier lives. I mean really who wouldn’t want to one of Ma Kelly’s strays!!
Love the KGI Series. I read Ethan and Rachel’s story third. But, I’m back on track and in order. I agree with some of the other’s that PJ needs a story and so does Rusty when she gets a little older.

I know a lot of people really like Garrett but all I could keep thinking while reading The Darkest Hour is ” leave the man’s wife alone”..lol. I read Whispers in The Dark first(really enjoyed it) then went back for the previous books. Ethan and Rachel story is my favorite but seems unfinished. OMG!! I stumbled onto the KGI series because I did a search for SEAL books. I love anything with the amazing men of our military and I immeditely fell in love with this series. I have read all 5 books in a little over a week and now I’m dying for the rest!! I love every single one of the Kellys and I’m SO glad you are venturing out to the other teams as well. I’ve had a soft spot for Rio since I first met his character and this book had me by the throat. When does book 6 come out?!

I’m extremely glad that you are doing another piece on Rachel and Ethan. (note my previous comment). I have introduced KGI to quite a few of my friends and of course the Kelly family is a big hit. They each had to get their own copies.

I love the KGI Series. I am esp. in love with Garrett and Donovan. I can’t wait for Van’s story to come out. I am so happy to hear that Rusty, Swanny and Steele will be getting their own stories as well. My only complaint is that I have found that Rachel’s elevation in status amongst the wives, and I understand that she is the first one to marry one of the Kelly brothers and that the family has known her the longest, seems to be a theme throughout the entire series, and it sort of upsets me, because I feel that all of the Kelly woman are fantastic and unique in their own right. Yes, I understand that Rachel has been through a terrible ordeal, but so has Sarah, who was raped in the most demeaning way possible, as have Sophie and Shea. I also think that Charlotte, as the 1st grandchild and the only Kelly girl in a long time, should have received better treatment in Softly At Sunrise.
I love the KGI series…I have read them over and over again. Whispers In The Dark is my favorite, but can’t wait to read PJ and Coles story!!! Would love Van’s story next or Joe’s. Then Steeles.
Would also like all the books to be turned into movies like Nora Robert’s does with some of hers.
*Possible Spoiler Question* (Just incase someone who hasn’t read that far sees this :) Just found this series about a month ago but misplaced the first book so I read them a little out of order, I know it’s terrible, my book friends are ashamed of me! I just finished Shades of Grey and I LOVED IT!!! I now have a crush on Cole… as well as the rest of these extraordinary men. I liked PJ way more than I thought. Being a girly-girl I wasn’t sure I would relate to her. You have me hooked on this genre. I was a “Fifty Shades” fan and loved the “Gabriel’s Inferno/Rapture” books most recently. Then became a huge fan of Lara Adrian/ Tina St John. Was moving to Regency Romances including Jess Michaels/ Jenna Peterson, Contemporary as well as some paranormal/vampire…mainly Lara Adrian and JR Ward. Wasn’t a fan of gratuitous violence though and didn’t like that part but loved the steam added by twist, turns and suspense. I found KGI on my Nook and fell in LOVE with your writing style. The depth of emotion is breathtaking. I particularly love Cole/PJ, Shea/Nathan and Sam/Sophie…not to in any way diminish the others.
PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME WITH DONOVAN…I really want him to be special…as I see others express the same sentiment.

PRETTY PLEASE, could we see more of PJ/Cole later. A novella with some redemption for all she went through…it was the most horrific and heinous act in all the books as far as I was concerned. I would like to see her and Cole able to reignite their passion after what she has been through.

…Looking back at my post I would like to add that the violence in your KGI books is not what I would term “gratuitous”… in fact the KGI guys are like knights in ?shining…no, sweaty, steamy hot…armor (fatigues)…and again, thank you for that. I am a Navy Wife…and a nurse, by the way…it isn’t often glamorous…or as steamy as I would like but your books and characters add some much needed excitement…thanks Maya.
I just read Shades of Gray. I liked it, probably not as much as the others, but it was good. I had a few issues that baffled me. Like how the heck did Brumley and Nelson find out who PJ was. Why the heck did PJ drink a drink from a notorious child trafficker’s right hand man known to rape girls? Why take PJ down in smarts a peg or two? I always found her super smart and definitely big on teams especially considering all the saves the group had done previously of the other women.
I know some say PJ and Cole’s dating went quickly or had not a lot of development…but I disagree. We’ve seen it all along.
My only pet peeve has been the constant use of battering the heroine. Why the need for this? I just hated seeing PJ brought down to this even though she was still strong…I just felt she could have used a better story line. It was harsher than the others in my eyes. EVEN worse than Rachel’s and Sarah’s. Still a well-written story, I just wished for more. And some plot holes as I mentioned above. Maybe I missed them, but I did go back and didn’t see anything about PJ saying who she was to these men. So I don’t know? An oversight maybe?
I heard that Van’s story is coming next January. If it is…UGH why so long!!!! LOL. But FINALLY! I swear I envision Van with a single mom in search of her kid…I DON’T know why! I just envision him with one. But take your time with his! I can’t wait for his story!
I, too, agree with Rusty and Sean!!! That, I’d love to read! But I also desperately would love a Resnick story even if it’s a novella. He is just so intriguing! The Man who knows all! Maybe that’s his power! Something he got that Shea or Grace didn’t an immense easiness for getting information and knowing all! LOL!
I’m super excited about your Breathless Series, so at least that will keep us busy until Steele’s story…may we get to next January soon for Van’s story LOL
