Deadline approaching!

I’m deep in my writing cave, finishing up Shades of Gray, KGI #6 (P.J. and Cole’s story) so that’s why I haven’t been around much. I’ll remain in the cave until I turn in the book next week but wanted to answer a few random questions I’ve been getting frequently in email.

1. Yes, all six Kelly brothers will be getting a story eventually. I just didn’t think it was particularly realistic for them all to fall in love one right after the other *g*

2. Yes, I have plans for Steele, Swanny and Rusty (the three most frequent characters I get questions about other than the Kelly brothers)

3. No, I don’t plan to pair Rusty with one of the Kelly brothers or Steele (two most frequent questions I get in regard to Rusty)

I’ll actually be doing a live Facebook chat on June 7th from the Berkley offices where you are free to ask me questions about any of my books or series. I’ll be posting more about it as we get closer to the date and I’ll post the URL for the Facebook page where the chat will take place.

I’m so excited “Echoes at Dawn” end especially excited for “Shades of Grey!” All of your books are like an addiction. I love the characters, plots, angst, romance and steaminess that all comes together to make a great, engaging read.

I wanted to say that I always though in some part of my mind that a romantic relationship with Rusty and Sheriff Sean Cameron would be really interesting–lots of angst and heat between those two. I know the age difference is a little bigger but the maturity seems to be there.

Thanks again for sharing your great work!

      Do you take ideas?
I was wondering If you’d ever venture into a Zombie apocalypse KGI?
It would be fuc*ing amazing and I would buy every copy I could.
It would be interesting to see the KGI men trying to protect their families and men.
It would be something that not even powerful connection and/or army training could save them.

I’m fairly new to your books and I’m loving them! I do have a question: I just finished reading The Billionaire’s Contract Engagement (such a sweet love story!) and I was wondering if it was going to be turned into a series? And if not: Were Brock and Elle together? Why did Ash always leave the room/what emergencies? And who really leaked the pictures if Bettina was on her honeymoon? They looked like answers that would be filled in later, but I saw the book was published two years ago, so I don’t want to get my hopes up for the brother’s stories (or Brock and Elle’s) if nothing will come of it. Thanks for writing such amazing stories! I reread so many of them all the time.

    1. Maya says:

Ash, the book was part of a mini series written by six different authors from the Desire line. Mine was book three and there were certain plot points we had to adhere to. The tidbits that were dropped were ends tied up in subsequent books starring those characters but written by different authors. So if you check out the rest of the mini series, those questions ARE answered.

      1. Ash says:

Awesome! I’ll be sure to check them out. Although I’m sorry you’re not the one to finish out the stories :).

    2. Just go to amazon and type in “Kings of the Boardroom”, and the series should come up.

First: Bossman’s Baby Scandal By: Catherine Mann
Second: Executive’s Pregnancy Ultimatum By: Emilie Rose
Third: Billionaire’s Contract Engagement By: Maya Banks
Fourth: Money Man’s Fiancee Negotiation By: Michelle Celmer
Fifth: Bachelor’s Bought Bride By: Jennifer Lewis
Sixth: CEO’s Expectant Secretary By: Leanne Banks.

  3. Melanie J. says:

I can’t wait for the next two books to come out.. It seems to me that they are taking FORVER!! :)

  4. NS says:

Can’t wait for the books to come out… all eager and excited now.. =)

  5. Shannon says:

I like the idea of Rusty and Sean and it does seem that there’s already something sparking between them :). Though she is young now, maybe down the road a few books…

  6. I agree, Rusty and Sean would be perfect for each other. Can’t wait for all the books to come out!

  7. ingrid says:

I’m really looking forward to Shades of Gray (why gray??) because I’ve always been a huge P.J. fan. I love girls who are tough on the outside but also vulnerable and able to love and commit to a partner. Make sure Cole is worthy of her;-)!!!
I’m also really curious about the spin-off of the Sweet Series because these books are among my alltime favourites!
So back to your cave and keep on writing!!! Pretty, pretty please!!!

  8. Natalie says:

I’m soooooo excited and happy that you will be writing a book on Steele. I think, other than the Kelly’s, he’s my fave character.

Unlike the others who commented, I don’t wanna “envision” a certain pairing. You, Maya, have done great work on you own so far and I KNOW whatever pairings you choose will be great! I’ll just wait and see!

One thing I’d definitly want to see is more Kelly boys-Rusty interaction. As someone who never had a brother, it really makes “awe” moments for me when a bro is protective of his sis.

  9. Kelly says:

July 3 can’t come soon enough. :) I find it interesting people ask about Rusty being with either one of the Kelly’s or Steele. It never even crossed my mind you may pair her with any of them because the Kelly’s really turn into protective big brothers and Steele seems like he’s definitely going to need a very special woman. I’m looking forward to the rest of the books in the series but especially Van’s.

  10. Sian says:

I highly doubt Rusty will be paired with Sean… Because while he isn’t blood related, Mrs Kelly considers him one of her own. Therefore, I think Maya will simply restrict his and Rusy’s relationship to merely being siblings by adoption… I doubt anything romantic will come of it! I am so excited for Cole and PJ’s story! PJ is one of my favourite characters, she’s so tough and a great shot… after all, she’s considered one of the best snipers! And she doesn’t pretend to be somebody she’s not, which is great! She’s real… as a character can be, that is!

Also looking forward to Rio’s book! Oh yeah, there’s a man I’d love getting to know better. After all, he has a “classified” background! Keep up the great work, Maya! I’m a huge fan of the KGI family and business!

  11. Tyre says:

I’m hoping Rusty and Sean end up together. I’m also looking forward to the coming KGI books.

  12. Jess says:

. I was wondering when you leave the Ebook to download the book free?

  13. Pat says:

I love all the books and can’t wait for Rio and Grace’s story but I have to say I was hoping Rusty and Swanny would end up together.

  14. Felicia says:

I am a great fan of the Kelly serious I can’t wait to read more on Van’s story. I am very interested in Swanny’s story which I hope Maya pairs him with Rusty not Sean. I just think it would make more sense. I can’t wait for Rio’s story or PJ’s story. What can I say I am just a great fan. I can’t wait to spend long hours of the night just reading and living each character. Maya please don’t
    ever stop writing about Kelly’s.

  15. Carmen says:

Dear Maya I am a huge fan of the Kelly series. I don’t want you to ever stop writing about the Kelly family. But I am very excited on what you are going to write about on dolphin and the rest of the team members. I do have to admit I would like you to do another book based on Garret again a more action pack kind of book. I can’t wait for Rio’s book being that he is so covert and mysterious.

  16. Denise says:

counting the days until Rio’s book. I am so glad you are not going to pair Rusty with a Kelly or Steele. It will be fun to see who you pair her with. If I know you it will be with someone we least expect or know anything about!!! Keep writing your great books!!! Thanks for keeping us posted.

  17. Tweety says:

Hi Maya…I absolutely love your books… The way you write about each character and how you play out the story is amazing… You said that you will be writing about Donovan, Steele, rusty and swanny too after pj and cole’s story… Will that be all or will you be writing about anyone else? What about Sean? I always thought you might be pairing him up with rusty… Let me know your updates soon

  18. Stuti says:

Hey I’ve really been enjoying your KGI series and am looking forward to Rio & Grace’s and P.J. & Coles’s stories.

I hope you’ll continue to be unpredictable and I’d like to read more about Dr Maren and how she became so close to the Kellys. Her being paired with one of the KGI members would be nice….. maybe Steele??

Looking forward to what you through at us :)

  19. Jaxs says:

July 3rd cannot come fast enough. I was re-reading the series just to kill time until Rio and Grace’s story. I know a lot have stated that they want Rusty paired with Sean, but has anyone thought of the young Marine Klye Phillips as an interesting match:)

  20. Kat says:

Yay! I’m so excited for the next two books, especially Shades of Gray! Personally, for Steele, I want to see him and Dr. Maren together. I remember their minor interaction in The Darkest Hour when he snarled at her as she tried to treat him and I’ve liked them together ever since, haha!

Also. I really, REALLY want Donovan’s book! He’s my favorite Kelly brother out of all of them and I can’t wait to see what you come up with for him.

I can picture his story involving a woman and her child, where the woman’s child is kidnapped and because Van loves children he’ll want to help. I think it would be cute if the woman turned out to be a woman from his past who had his child, but I’m sure I’ll love whatever you come up with!

  21. Morgan says:

Kgi is now in my number one spot for favorite series’ ( highlanders shares said spot) … Is it in the cards for Seth from KGI to get a full length story?

  22. Morgan says:

I also see Seth and Rusty together !!! Maybe one of the later books in the series, but that pairing just the same!

  23. Heidi says:

I love your “Sweet Series,” I saw that you will be doing a spin off series with Kane, which I’m excited about but are you finished with the Sweet series? I’m not really sure where you would go with it but I just love the group of friends and the crazy stuff the girls do. I hope you write another book to the series!!!!!

  24. Christine says:

Sweet… Just one more day until Echoes!

Thank you Maya! I am thrilled to read that you will be doing stories on some of the other prominent team members. They too have become part of our lives, along with the Kelly’s and and their strays. ;)

I absolutely agree Rusty shouldn’t pair up with a Kelly. Um, ick! Now if say a certain man in uniform that is a stray and drives around with a police/sheriffs emblem on his vehicle would just ooen his eyes, I wouldn’t complain. But yes, she needs more growing up to do in loving family.

Just wnated to say thank you… This series hits just the right spot!

  25. Christine says:

Wow, look at all those screwups. That’s what I get for posting this early in the morning and not previewing. ;)

Feel free to ignore them. :)

  26. Joey says:

I love the KGI series. I’m so looking forward to Rio and Grace’s story tomorrow. I read Nathan and Shea’s story again today because I live this series.

  27. Joey says:

I meant to say I love this series. :)

  28. Gina says:

Just had to tell you how much I LOVED “Echos at Dawn”! Couldn’t wait to get it on July 3rd and read until the early hours in the morning to finish it! Fantastic story…although Ethan and Rachel’s story is my fave…this is a very close 2nd! I think it’s a big compliment to an author to want to keep reading a story after it ends…and I wanted to keep reading SO bad…cannot wait for “Shades of Gray”! Thanks Maya!

  29. Kendra L says:

Love all the Kelly books. Love the idea of you writing about Rusty with maybe swanny. I can’t wait for more of the series.

  30. lori says:

Maya I have injoyed reading all your books, your KGI series is ‘AWESOME’ can’t wait until Shade’s of Gray comes out looking forward to all the books in the series…..I’m looking forward to seeing what you have in store for Joe,Rusty, and Van….

  32. While you will discover lots of scammers out there, you will discover also authentic buyers who pay out with cashier checks.A couple of decades back I had been contacted by representive of Merit Motors ( University Position,NY) concerning a 250SL that I had outlined on Atlanta Craigslist .I genuinely suspected a scam but just after negotiating a price and receiving a test by FedEx ( complete with tracking variety) I had the check out verified by my bank and also questioned how lengthy it might consider to “bounce” if it was about to.I was told two weeks max,so when the buyer called to inquire whenever they might have their shipper pick up the car I told them two weeks”.No problem”they replied and gave me a selection to get in touch with and notify the shipper when i was all set. This transaction worked well to everyone included.

  33. Insoles says:

Wow, awesome weblog structure! How lengthy have you ever been blogging for? you make running a blog glance easy. The overall look of your website is excellent, as neatly as the content material!

  34. Ann Marie says:

How long will we have to wait for Sean and Rusty’s story?

  35. beth says:

Love the KGI series I would like to see the lady that captures Hancock’s attention.

  36. Ms. Johnson says:

The KGI series is one of the best i have ever read. I read Donavon story first then Swannys. They were fantastic. I had to get the rest. They were all great. I knw ur comin out with Hancock story but do u hv one for Rusty n Sean or Joe. If so can u tell me the titles so i can by them.

  37. Katrina says:

I have all the Kelly/KGI books. My first was Sam’s and then I had to go back and buy Ethan’s. I have eagerly awaited every new book! Lately, I really missed the “guys” and reread ALL the books. Donovan and Swanny’s books were much more enjoyable the second time around (I enjoyed them the first time but the second time, just better). Would love a “prequel” of how KGI started… :)

  38. Tiffany Trotter says:

I love this series. I hate that you have to wait to long between books. Im disappointed that the next book isnt about Joe or Rusty. I cant wait for their story
