Monday, and where is October going?

October is usually one of those long ass months for me. That and January, but damn, it’s already the 9th. I’ve blinked and the month is whizzing by.

Over the weekend, I took my daughter to get her hair cut. OMG we got 8 inches lopped off. She looks cute as a button but she had gorgeous hair :crying:

I also spent the weekend reading. I got one of the Amazon orders in and quickly devoured all the books. Sigh…I really irritate myself. Because now I have nothing to read until the next order comes in, and usually I’d re-read books but the ones I got in first, well, they weren’t re-readable. :cursesign:

The week won’t be a complete loss (at least I hope not) Jaci Burton has a new EC release, and just because it’s her and I can usually count on an excellent read, I’ll venture over to EC and buy it.

Book Buying Binge

Two Amazon orders and one eharlequin order later, it’s obvious that A. I’m on a book binge, and B. I’ll do just about anything to avoid my current proposal. I haven’t bought many print books lately. I’ve been buying a lot of ebooks, though. I seem to go in cycles where I’ll find a lot of one or the other that intrigue me, but for some reason it never happens concurrently.

I’m in a rut with ebooks. I’ve read a few really good ones lately, and I’ll be talking about them next week over at Writeminded, but on the whole, I’m just not feeling the love with ebooks lately. Dunno if it’s me, if it’s just a dry spell or I’m just being pickier than I used to be.

I could say the same for print books, too, though. It’s been a long time since I bought a print book much less bookS. But Im hoping when my three boxes come in, I’ll find something I love within those pages. :chowtime:

And for another odd question, because, well, I’m odd, have you ever picked up a book, read it then thought it was the most horrid thing ever, but for some inexplicable reason you’ll actually buy the next one in the series or the next one out by that author? Uhm because this has happened to me. Honestly, the first book I picked up by this author, I was incredulous. It was that bad. But I still read it, even while snorting through some of the more ridiculous passages. I have no explanation for why I bought more or while I’ll buy the next one when it’s out. Maybe I’m a masochist? I still think they’re ridiculous but I’m still buying them. :idontknow:

Maybe I should get out more.

Crispy Feet

Spent Sunday at the beach swimming and fishing. :fishing: The weather was simply gorgeous. The water temp was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. We caught a bunch of sharks, so that was fun, and I even remembered to wear sunblock. For the most part.

THe tops of my feet are SO burnt. :help:

Tonight we’re going to grill steaks and celebrate the release of Colters’ Woman, which as you probably guessed releases tonight! :cheer:

In the meantime, I’ve got a really smart assed hero to see about.

Conquering Germ Warfare

Yeah, that’s what it’s been at my house. All out germ warfare. The kids all got well. Mama? She comes down with a double whammy of strep throat and mono. :dunno: Yeah, I’m having a lot of fun. But I’m on day three of antibiotics, and can only now manage to swallow without excrutiating agony.

I only have a few days left until Colters’ Woman releases. :whoo: I’m so excited. I’ve already gotten some fantastic reviews, and I’ve been a bit flabbergasted by the excellent feedback I’ve received on the story. I can’t wait for release day, which is officially Tuesday, but the releases always go up on the Samhain page Monday night. :lol2:

And I just contracted another story that my editor is excited about, so uhm, I have PLENTY to do in the coming months. Lots and lots to do… and uhm there’s the small matter of a proposal I have to get to my Berkley editor in two months. :help:

So yeah, working. That’s what I’ll be doing if anyone is looking for me. :writersblock:

Understood

Yes, it’s been hanging out in the sidebar for awhile, but I wanted to post a larger size. I heart Anne Cain. She does wonderful covers. :worthy:

Understood releases December 19th.

Shhhhhh

I’m whispering, but I think maybe the sickies have finally left. :sweating:

Middle child has been home the last two days running a huge fever and puking. :puke: Yeah, lovely, I know. But all seems better today, and I no longer have the headache that had me wanting to cleave my forehead in two.

Which is good because we have a dove hunting trip planned for tomorrow. :shoot: Should be a blast. Friend of ours has the entire hotel rented out for our group. We’ll go down tomorrow, hunt until dark and the goof off the rest of the evening.
