A special holiday message for all my readers!

I just want to take a moment before the holidays descend to give you guys some serious love <3 <3 <3 I have company coming in this evening and then again tomorrow and we'll be traveling for actual Christmas so I won't be on the internet much until after the New Year. BUT I wanted to take the time to let you guys know how very much you mean to me. 2012 has been an utterly FANTASTIC year for me and I owe every single part of that to YOU. I don't say these words lightly. I'm not telling you this and don't mean it. My career is where it is because of READERS. No other reason. No matter how good of a book or bad of a book I write. No matter what my agent sells or my publisher buys, at the end of the day without READERS going out and buying those books, loving them, talking them up, recommending them and supporting me so wonderfully as you all have done, without YOU my career wouldn't be possible. I say this from the bottom of my heart and I hope you all know that I'm utterly sincere in my appreciation and deep love for you all. You've made so much possible for me and I want to continue giving back to you, writing really great stories that I hope you'll continue to love and support as much as you already have. It is ALWAYS my goal to give readers the best possible book I can every single time I sit down and write one. I know that sometimes it doesn't work out the way I intend. It's not possible to give every single reader a book they will love every single time. That's a fact of the business. BUT my heart is ALWAYS in TRYING to give readers a book that is the best I can make it every single time no matter what. I hate it when I fail and I feel like I let you guys down and it makes me work even harder on the next book because I don't EVER set out to intentionally disappoint readers. 2013 is shaping up to be a really fantastic year as well. I have a LOT of books releasing and I'm crossing fingers and toes that you guys love them as much as you've loved my books in the past. We start 2013 off with a bang with Shades of Gray in just under two weeks! Yay! Then immediately following, in February, the Breathless trilogy kicks off with RUSH. In March, Highlander Most Wanted releases. In April, the second Breathless book, FEVER, releases and then in May if you haven't read the anthology MEN OUT OF UNIFORM with my novella, SOUL POSSESSION, you'll be able to get it as a digital stand alone. In July FORGED IN STEELE will release! And then in August the last Breathless book, BURN will release and in September the next Scottish historical which is tentatively titled HIGHLAND EVER AFTER will be coming your way. Whew! It's going to be a busy year! And I have many more plans that I'm working on *evil grin* and I hope to be posting more news about more books after the first of the year. I'm going to try VERY hard to get the Tangled Hearts trilogy launched by next fall so cross your fingers that I'm able to make that happen as well :) I'm SUPER excited about the release of Shades of Gray. You guys put Echoes at Dawn at #7 on the NYT (my best showing to date) and #16!!! on the USA Today which is also my best showing to date on that list BUT I have absolute confidence that together we can rock it out with Shades of Gray and that we have a chance of doing even better with THIS release :))) <3 <3 <3 And if it happens, I'll have YOU guys to thank for it because you are absolutely the ones responsible for my success. I want to wish everyone a very happy and SAFE holiday season. I hope you make wonderful memories this season. I know you guys have given me many, MANY wonderful memories of 2012 and I'm looking forward to a terrific 2013 together with you guys. Much love always, xoxo Maya

I discovered KGI two weeks and have read them all…Wow!
I just finished Shades of Grey and I LOVED IT!!! I now have a crush on Cole… as well as the rest of these extraordinary men. I liked PJ way more than I thought. Being a girly-girl I wasn’t sure I would relate to her. You have me hooked on this genre. I was a “Fifty Shades” fan and loved the “Gabriel’s Inferno/Rapture” books most recently. Then became a huge fan of Lara Adrian/ Tina St John. Was moving to Regency Romances including Jess Michaels/ Jenna Peterson, Contemporary as well as some paranormal/vampire…mainly Lara Adrian and JR Ward. Wasn’t a fan of gratuitous violence though and didn’t like that part but loved the steam added by twist, turns and suspense. I found KGI on my Nook and fell in LOVE with your writing style. The depth of emotion is breathtaking. I particularly love Cole/PJ, Shea/Nathan and Sam/Sophie…not to in any way diminish the others.
PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME WITH DONOVAN…I really want him to be special…as I see others express the same sentiment.

    ****?spoilers?****
PRETTY PLEASE, could we see more of PJ/Cole later. A novella with some redemption for all she went through…it was the most horrific and heinous act in all the books as far as I was concerned. I would like to see her and Cole able to reignite their passion after what she has been through.
Thank you for these novels and please keep them coming. There are so many possibilities.

…Looking back at my post I would like to add that the violence in your KGI books is not what I would term “gratuitous”… in fact the KGI guys are like knights in ?shining…no, sweaty, steamy hot…armor (fatigues)…and again, thank you for that. I am a Navy Wife…and a nurse, by the way…it isn’t often glamorous…or as steamy as I would like but your books and characters add some much needed excitement…thanks Maya.

Finished Shades of Gray this afternoon and loved it! I had to stop every now and again because of what happened, but I managed to get thru it – with tears streaming down my eyes. Such a beautiful story for PJ and Cole.

Would love to see what happens in the new book, Rush. Here’s to hoping that I can *crosses fingers & toes*

  33. Pat Cochran says:

Almost done reading Shades of Grey and can’t bring myself to finish it. I don’t want to wait until July to read more about the KGI family.

  35. Jenn Gitln says:

Love your books can’t wait to read what’s coming in 2013. Hope you and your family have a great New Year’s!!!

  36. Angie Lewis says:

Thanks for the competition. Maya, still loving your work year after year. After each book I think they cant get better. But they do every time. I’ve lived my own fairy tale. From a single parent struggling with 2 kids in England to finding my lovely Texan man, marrying him and moving to Texas to be with him. Just like with the heroes and heroines in your books, it wasn’t an easy road. But it was worth every stumble and every roadblock. Love finds a way to navigate all this, for me and my beloved, and the guys and girls in your stories. Cant wait to read more in 2013. Hope the new year brings love, hope and joy for you and your family.

  37. Cheryl says:

I love the colter’s series can’t wait until the next book! Also amber eyes books. Thank you for a great read!

  38. My favorites where Book 1: The Darkest Hour Book 2: No Place to Run both in the KGI series. Nathan’s is Third, but my favorite character is Garrett! I’m also in love with Donovan, so if you don’t want to write the story that’s cool because the one with me and him going on in my head is working out perfect!

  39. Suzanne says:

    Just finished Shades of Grey.

Wow. Not for the faint-hearted (althoguh none of this series is).

Definitely your best book yet for those who want a real, gritty, truly challenging storyline.

I don’t know that I would have done what PJ did, but I wouldn’t be a sharp-shooter either!

    SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT

Without giving too much away, the ending was also really well done without pandering to the totally happily-ever-after conclusion that would ordinarily be expected in the romance genre.

The earlier books included endings that indicated that there would be a hard road ahead. IMO, the overall tenor of this one was just right and will be appreciated by many survivors.

  40. Christine Gobbo Petrella says:

    Hey Sharon,

Clueless me had no idea things were going so phenomenally well for you! Brought a smile to my face today. Congrats to you and Merry Christmas!
