A note about future Colters’ Legacy books

First I’d just like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has purchased or plans to purchase Colters’ Daughter. I truly appreciate each and every one of my readers and love you for allowing me to do something I love more than anything. Because of you, Colters’ Daughter climbed all the way to #2 on the Barnes and Noble bestseller list for all books. It also dipped well below the 100 mark at Amazon and it’s a bestseller at the Samhain store as well.

Many of you have been asking if this is the last book in the Colters’ Legacy series.

I should first say that I honestly never had any intention of writing books beyond Colters’ Woman. It took me a few years to come around on that point after many, many and I mean MANY reader emails asking me to please write more about the Colters.

So I’ll tell you now, that I’ve had plans to write at least one more book since I decided to write Colters’ Lady and Colters’ Daughter. :)

For those of you who’ve asked about loose ends or just wanting a feeling of completion to some issues that were raised in Colters’ Lady or Colters’ Daughter, this book would sort of tie all that together in what I hope is a satisfying conclusion.

I hope you’ll understand that I simply cannot bring myself to write future generations of Colters because it would mean saying goodbye to Holly, Adam, Ethan and Ryan and I would be devastated to write a book in which they were no longer alive. I couldn’t do it! It would break my heart. For me they will always live in my heart and mind and on the pages of my books.

So the story I’ve planned to write is about the Colter family as a whole, not just one particular relationship. It would include Holly and her men as well as Lily and hers and of course Callie and Max.

I would love to say I’ll have the book ready by this fall but I can’t promise. Since I want to title it A Colter Christmas, I’d love to have it out no later than November, and I will try very hard, but I simply can’t guarantee it.

But I just want to say that without all the wonderful emails over the years about Colters’ Woman and the nonstop requests to write more books about this family, I would have honestly never written Colters’ Lady or Colters’ Daughter, so this final book would be my way of saying thank you to all my readers.

I love you all to pieces!

Maya

That is such wonderful news Maya. I love this family too so I’m just freaking happy to know we’ll get one more. jumping up and down with glee.

I agree, any future books would not be the same without the original Colter clan! I like the way you think, and am anxious to read how their stories all wrap up. It’s kind of like Lora Leigh’s “Men of August” series…I can’t see any other future books that wouldn’t include the original family members. Thank you SO much for bringing us the Colter family, they are truly a spectacular group, and I am sure we will all cherish their stories for years to come!

I think Colter’s Christmas is a fabulous idea. And as far as future Colter generations go, I too couldn’t bear it if the original Colters weren’t a part of it. I hate it when I fall in love with characters and have to face their demise in following stories. It’s too heart-breaking.

PS: I’ve got my copy of Colter’s Daughter and plan on reading it this weekend! :)

Whatever you decide to do is good with me….love the Colter books and can understand why you would not want to go on to future generations without HOlly, Ethan, Adam and Ryan since they started it all:)

I finished Colter’s Daughter Tuesday night. Another fantastic read! Thanks so much for writing this series. Colter’s Woman was the book that got me started with ebooks. I go back and re-read it about once a year just to touch base with Holly & her men. Now I get to read the other books as well.

  7. Mikaela says:

I must admit, that the one story I have wanted, since first time I finished Colters’ Woman is the story about how the Colters’ grandparents met! :) But I understand your reluctance to not write about future generations.

  8. Leanne says:

I love this family and am glad you will be doing one more. I am 3/4 done with Colters’ Daughter and am loving it. Only put it down to go to work. Glad you have no intentions of killing off Holly and her men that would be terrible.

  9. Gail says:

I just wanted to thank you for this wonderful series of books! I love the Colter’s series, but have to say honestly that Colter’s Woman is my fav of all.
I would hate to have to say goodbye to Holly, Ethan, Adam and Ryan, it would be like losing part of my family (sounds silly I know).
Thank you for all your wonderful books! your at the top of my list of must buy authors .
    Gail

I also want to say that I agree with Mikaela about wanting to know more about Ethan, Ryan and Adam’s parents
    *hint hint* lol

  11. Gina says:

Oh, Maya, what fantastic news! I LOVE the Colter books…Holly, Adam, Ethan and Ryan’s story was such a great book for me that I immediately wanted more. Now to hear you’re writing a story about the family as a whole is the best news. However, I wholeheartedly agree with some of the other comments…Adam, Ethan and Ryan’s parents would make a GREAT story….hint, hint!

I have loved everyone in the Colter family since I found the 1st book! I – like everyone else – waited anxiously for Colter’s Daugher to arrive, and finished it the same day!! I was NOT disapointed! ‘A Colter Christmas’ – WOW!! I am filled with excitement – what more can you add!!? I KNOW I will be just as thrilled with this one – So…. Can’t you make it ‘A Colter Summer’?? – LOL!! Keep writing, I will keep buying!! Thanks so much for sharing your stories!!

  13. EmiR says:

What a great wrap up for such a special family! I wholeheartedly agree with your reason for not writing about future Colter generations. I love Colters’ Woman, and reread it a lot. Don’t think I could stand to have anything happen to the group that started this wonderful series. Congratulations on your list rankings–you deserve it!

  14. Laurel says:

I am so excited about the next book. This is a wonderful series and I agree with you about this being the last one. It would be hard to read about the loss of Holly or one of her men….

  15. Lynn says:

I agree with wanting to know more about the earlier generations of the Coulters. This would not require “killing” off the 2 generations we love and you could write 2 more books. Thanks for working on the Coulter Christmas – I hope you do finish it by November!

  16. Lauralee says:

I would really like to read the stories of Adam, Ryan and Ethan’s parents and grandparents. How did the “tradition begin” and how was it viewed in different time periods. It would be really cool to read about Adam, Ryan and Ethan as young boy!

  17. Lynne says:

I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed your books tremendously. As long as you keep writing, I’ll keep reading :)

I can’t even describe how excited I am about this Maya!!! I love the Colters and can wait for this book. And i have to say that i would rather say good-bye with one last book than see Holly and her guys not there anymore… they will forever be my favorite part of the colters.

Ya know… we can always just pretend we have never read the series before and start from the begining… like “Hmm… this looks interesting… i should read it.” haha. COULTERS RULE!!!!

Maya, Coulter’s Woman was my first manage and I have to tell you that I read it and read it just because I loved Callie, Ryan, Adam and Ehtan story and their sequel. But I can’t wait to read a Coulter’s Christmas and the end of this saga because Christmas is my favorite season it will be a must and I pray you will meet all your deadlines because I can’t wait to read your next book each time.

The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool capabilities like ‘Mixview’ that let you rapidly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, permitting you to navigate around exploring by comparable artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great enjoyable, letting you find other people with shared tastes and becoming pals with them. You then can listen to a playlist produced based on an amalgamation of what all your buddies are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will likely be relieved to know you are able to avoid the public from seeing your private listening habits if you so select.
