A big thank you to all my readers & my glamorous life…

Yesterday was such an exciting day. No Place to Run placed #18 on the New York Times mass market fiction bestseller list. And you guys totally put it there! Thank you so much for pre-ordering it and going out and buying it in release week. *squeeze*

It’s a little surreal. I mean every author hopes to hit the USA Today and the NYT bestseller lists. But if feels like a pipe dream when you’re first starting out. It’s a little weird to think that I’ve hit both lists with my KGI books. Books that are so special to me. A series that is so special to me. To get to do what I love as my job is spectacular enough but to achieve any level of success doing what I love is just priceless. I can’t thank my readers enough for that opportunity. I’m grateful for you every single day.

Just so I never, you know, get too full of myself *snort* As some of you know, my husband is a forester. He buys timber for a paper company. Which means he deals a lot with loggers, good ole boys. (Our kind of people! lol) Anyway we have this friend who owns a logging company and a saw mill. He kept nagging my husband to make me get Word Feud on my cell phone because he thought it would be cool to play against an author.

So I’ve been playing Word Feud for the last few weeks with him. So last night when I saw it was my turn (these games go on for days) as a teasing way of telling him my news, I sent him a chat message through the game saying “You’re now playing Word Feud with a NYT bestselling author heh”

To which he responds: “Yeah, well, you’re playing Word Feud with a drunk redneck”

Well there you have it folks. My life. Glamorous huh?

Isn’t that always the way, some smart aleck redneck comes along and bursts your bubble. Haha ;)

Congratulations, Maya! I’m so happy for you and the books. It is well-deserved and you have really worked hard to get here. It’s one thing to see the book and characters in your head, it’s another to actually create that world for your readers. Each book just keeps getting better and we, your fans, are anxiously awaiting the next KGI installment.

Oh…I just realized that having met you at RAW this year, right before KGI skyrocketed on the best sellers list, I can tell people that I met Maya Banks BEFORE she was a NYT bestselling author. I knew her when. ;) Yup, adding to my street cred. LOL

I’m so thrilled for you Maya. Sometimes, I aallmost feel guilty for reading & finsihing your books so fast as soon as you release them since you put soo much time on each one. I felt like hey, I should put as much time reading it as you’re writing it to do it justice. But we know that’s silly. That’s why I almost feel guilty, alllmost. :) They’re so good, I couldn’t stop. So, instead of reading it slow, I just re-read them over & over again. I figure that’ll do them justice, right?
    CONGRATS again!

First of all, congrats on the new book. A few friends of mine from a blog just recently turned me on to your book and I have to tell you that I cant get enough. I started with The Darkest Hour. That was the fastest I have ever read a book in my life. What a great read. Now I have finished the first two books in the colter series, and just cant stop telling all my friends about them. I cant wait to read No Place To Run! Gotta looooove those kelly men

Loved the drunk redneck thing so fits a bunch of my friends LOL.
You’ll have to drop by Kris Cook’s chat on Wednesday sometime. Here lately Shelley/Shayla Black has been hosting.
    Hugs, Chrissie

  11. I am soooo happy for you! It’s great to see someone making head-ways in this business.

I am a new author and recently published my first non-fiction in August of this year–Seven Letters To Heaven. It’s a true story of faith and answered prayers.

I am trying to reach out to other authors in an effort to get some good marketing tips that have been tried and proven.

Good luck with your writing career!

    Terry

  12. I got a warning message from my Avira AV when I opened your website. Do you realize why this occured? Could it perhaps from the ads or some thing? It really odd and I hope it was harmless? Come on, it’s my new notebook…

  13. Hi, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam remarks? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can recommend? I get so much lately it’s driving me insane so any support is very much appreciated.

Southern Sin. And I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you don’t mind.
Is it just me or does it give the impression like a few of these remarks appear as if they are coming from brain dead
folks? :-P And, if you are posting at additional online sites, I would like to follow everything fresh you have to post.
