The great blog challenge

Okay guys. I want to shop. I’m craving a really good read. I want to branch out and pick up some new books, new authors, rather than fall back on my stash of comfort reads. I’ve asked around for recommendations and have gotten a few but I’ve decided to make it a challenge.

Here’s the deal. Recommend something for me. I’ll put a few limitations. I’m not really looking for historicals because they don’t usually lend themselves well to a shorter format and well there just aren’t a lot of shorts out there in that genre.

I want something awesome. I would LOVE to find a new auto buy author. I would love to find a new book to covet and pet and reread a million times.

I’m looking for ebooks. Would love to find a small press author to love on. But I’ll take anything I can get in Kindle format.

I’m soooo desperate that if you end up recommending a book to me that I love, I’ll give away gift certificates. I’ll report back on the books I choose to buy out of the recommendations and I’ll report back on the books I love. And if I love the book that YOU recommend, I’ll send you a GC :)

Deal?

Now obviously it doesn’t count if I’ve already read the book or already own it. Obviously it won’t work for you to recommend a Christine Feehan book to me because duh… I already love all her books *g*

Ready? Set….Go! Oh and if you’re an author, there is no shame in recommending your own book ;)

Oh and does this need to be said? ROMANCE heh. I only want romance recs.

Edited to add: If you don’t mind, give me a little bit about the book. Maybe what you liked or a piece of the blurb or something that’s awesome about the book. That’s much better than just author and book. That way I’ll know something about it before I go searching!

    Maya,

If you are still interested in some suggestion I have a few that han’t been mentioned.

I have to say that you erotic romances were the first one I have read and enjoyed. Since then I have tried Lauren Danes Brown sibling series… I surprising liked them.

Anything by Nora Roberts is great but some of my favorites are:

Private Scandals…. I have read this about 8-10 times I love the characters and the plot is very interesting.

Hidden Riches… Another I have read 6-8 times. THere is something about the ending that just makes me melt.

True Betrayals….Great storyline. Lots of love, romance, family strife, and the rest I won’t give away.

The Born In trilogy… lots of romance and laugh out loud fun.

The Dream Trilogy.. The friendship betweent he three women is incredible

All of these book I have read multpule times.

    I am NOT a lover of historical romance novels, but I have one exception;

    Lisa Kleypas

She writes 18th romance and the characters are fun. Many times they cross over into other books.

If you want a stand alone story to see if you like her writing try Suddenly You. For her 30th birthday Amanda hires a man to help her lose her virginity. Not everything goes as planned and Jack has become intrigued…

Again the Magic is another stand alone book and introduces the reader to Lord Westcliff (my favorite hero of all time; sorry) He is the older brother of the two women featured in this story.

The Wallflower series is about four friends who get togethr to help each other find husbands. Lord Westcliff is apart of the series.
The names of the books are: Secrest of a Summer Night, It Happened One Autumn, Devil in the Winter, and Scandal in Spring. There is also a followup novella A Wallflower Christmas.

I have read this series twice in one year and am lending them ou tto many of my friends.

I have shared you stories as well and am loking forward to #3 in the KGI series. I have lots of questions too.

    Sincerely,
    Randi Frankel

    Hi Maya,
Wow! you have got lots of recommendations. I must say that I just finished reading “Colter’s Woman” & LOVED It! I am usually a Vamp Romance gal and wanted to spread my wings and read other romance novels.

I read the “Outlander Series” by Diana Gabaldon (the 1st book Outlander I got FREE on my kindle. From this series fan club your books were recommended. And now I am hooked.

If you’d like to venture into the world of Vampire Romance I recommend the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian. “Kiss of Midnight” is the first in the series. But “Kiss of Crimson” is my favorite. (I’ve read it 3 times and am now listening to an audio version-Italian vampires are just so sexy)

He watches her from across the crowded dance club, a sensual black-haired stranger who stirs Gabrielle Maxwell’s deepest fantasies. But nothing about this night—or this man—is what it seems. For when Gabrielle witnesses a murder outside the club, reality shifts into something dark and deadly. In that shattering instant she is thrust into a realm she never knew existed—a realm where vampires stalk the shadows and a blood war is set to ignite.

    From kindle description:
Lucan Thorne despises the violence carried out by his lawless brethren. A vampire himself, Lucan is a Breed warrior, sworn to protect his kind—and the unwitting humans existing alongside them—from the mounting threat of the Rogues. Lucan cannot risk binding himself to a mortal woman, but when Gabrielle is targeted by his enemies, he has no choice but to bring her into the dark underworld he commands.

Here, in the arms of the Breed’s formidable leader, Gabrielle will confront an extraordinary destiny of danger, seduction, and the darkest pleasures of all. . . .

  3. Thanks a lot for the article post.

  4. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog. A great read. I’ll definitely be back. Investment
