Exciting new! (and some changes)

Hey gang! I have some updates for you (finally) I have agreed to do a new trilogy for Berkley, who publishes my Sweet Series and the KGI series, and they’ll be publishing very quickly (so no long wait!) and they’ll be releasing them close together.

For those of you familiar with my Sweet Series, these new books will be very much that same flavor with a mix of my Harlequin Desires as well. I’ve jokingly said that if you take the heroine from Tycoon’s Rebel Bride and put her with Damon from Sweet Persuasion you have a good idea of the first book heh.

The Breathless trilogy will debut in Feb 2013 with the first book RUSH, followed by FEVER in April 2013 and BURN in August 2013.

This isn’t a new endeavor for me, rather I’ll be giving you what you’ve come to expect from me as an author. Emotional, sexy, erotic stories very much in line with the Sweet Series and all of my titles :)

Now, there WILL be two schedule changes to accomodate these books. I don’t want you to worry. There will be NO changes to my KGI series and their release dates nor will there be any changes to the Scottish historicals and their release dates. The ONLY two changes that will occur is that Theirs to Keep, the first book in the Tangled Hearts trilogy, will be delayed. I didn’t think it would be fair to my readers to begin the Tangled Hearts trilogy and then pause to publish this new trilogy and make you wait a year for the next book in the Tangled Hearts trilogy. So for now, that first book will be delayed.

Also, Colters’ Gift, which was originally scheduled for April 2013, will be delayed to fall 2013.

Theirs to Keep and Colters’ Gift are already written and turned in so they’ll both be published as soon as there is a logical place in my publishing schedule. I don’t want to overburden readers with a ton of Maya Banks books all at once.

I hope you’ll be as excited for the Breathless trilogy as I am and of course I’ll keep you posted on back cover copy, covers, and any other information as I soon as I receive it.

I just want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for being so awesome to me. I’m going to do my absolute best to bring you the best books I can make them and I hope you’ll enjoy RUSH, FEVER and BURN! <3 <3 <3

Softly at Sunrise in print

I have some news regarding Softly at Sunrise and its availability in print. I’ve gotten many emails asking if the novella would be available in print. Ordinarily, no. Because this is a novella that I am publishing on my own, it would only be available digitally. And I DO have some projects coming in the next few months that will only be available in digital format. It’s the reality of self publishing.

HOWEVER and I want everyone to know well in advance, that Softly at Sunrise is going to be printed in the back of Shades of Gray, which releases in January. Readers will have the choice of purchasing the novella in digital format at a much earlier date, August 21, or if they prefer a print format, they can wait for Shades of Gray to release in January. I’ve agreed to let my publisher print the novella so that followers of the KGI series will have access to the story in print. But neither did I want to make readers wait for the digital version until January so this is the best solution to try and accommodate as many readers as possible.

Colters’ Promise permanent price reduction!

I wanted to share with you guys that as of TOMORROW, the price of Colters’ Promise will permanently lower to 3.99. I specifically asked about the foreign markets because so many of you were unable to partake of the sale price in Canada, Australia and the U.K. and I’ve been assured that this permanent price reduction will be applied everywhere.

It may take a bit for the price reduction to filter down all the channels and retailers, so if you don’t see the price go down immediately, please be patient and keep checking back. My publisher has assured me that they are making this a priority and have asked that the price drop go into effect ASAP with a target date of tomorrow. (Thursday, July 12)

I’m doing a fist pump and I’m so excited that this has worked out in the readers’ favor. A special thank you to everyone who helped spread the word about the special sale price and for helping send them message that more appropriate pricing for books is important!

I’m also inquiring about the availability of Colters’ Promise through All Romance Ebooks. Many of you have either posted or emailed to ask and I’ve emailed my editor. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something.

Colters’ Promise special sale!

Hey gang, I wanted to tell you all that Colters’ Promise will be going on sale starting TOMORROW and the sale will last through Sunday July 8th. The price will drop to 2.99 and if you only knew how long I’ve been waiting for this to happen!

I’m very happy, that at least for a short period of time, my publisher has agreed to lower the price. It’s something I’ve really fought for since before the book released. I’m just thrilled that you guys will have a window of time to get the book at a much lower price, so be sure to take advantage of the sale while it lasts.

Sometimes it pays to be persistent lol ♥ ♥ ♥

I’ll be posting reminders on twitter and Facebook as well as my blog and website but wanted to give y’all a heads up in advance.

I’m off to the World Series tomorrow and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Try to stay cool :)

Love,

Maya

Colters’ release dates

I promised you guys more info on the Colter novella and the new Colter book as soon as I got it so here it is :) The novella will be released in June 2012 instead of in the fall so not too much of a delay after all. The fourth book in the series will release April 2013. The novella will be retitled and I still have to come up with a title for the fourth book :)

I should have a cover for the novella soon as they’re cover conferencing asap.

Exciting news about the Colters’ Legacy series!

I’m sorry to have made so many of you wait for an update on the Colter novella I was planning. I’ve been working on this for quite some time and I wanted to hold off until every thing was finalized and set so I could tell you with absolute certainty what was going on with the novella and a little something extra I hope you’ll all be excited about :)

I know that many of you were expecting the release of the Colter Christmas novella to be this fall and I realize you may be disappointed that it’s being postponed until 2012. I hope you’ll be happy about WHY, though.

I wanted not to exclude a large portion of my readership by releasing this digitally, but since it was a novella, there wasn’t much way around that. By my agent and my editor, being the geniuses they are, figured a solution that would enable ALL my readers to be able to buy and read the Colter novella.

Berkley is going to publish the Colter novella AND they’re going to release it in a special mass market stand alone novella, which means that you the reader aren’t buying an anthology with several other stories. You’ll be buying the Colter novella in print. Or if you’re a digital reader, you can of course purchase it as an ebook.

The print and the digital will release simultaneously, on the same day. No waiting a year between digital and print as you’ve done with the previous Colter releases.

Since this novella will be released in print/digital simultaneously, we had to delay the release until AFTER Colters’ Daughter releases in print in Feb 2012 because the novella spoils Colters’ Daughter. The novella takes place over a year after Colters’ Daughter and we very much wanted to preserve the timeline and not spoil Colters’ Daughter for those of you waiting to get it in print.

We’re planning to release the novella in print/digital in Summer/Fall 2012. As SOON as I have an exact date, you all will be the first to know. My editor has promised not to make you wait very long. They’re discussing when to publish it now and should have an answer for us soon. Regardless of when, the readers are uppermost in our minds. We wanted to give everyone a chance to have this novella and not just the digital readers out there.

And if this weren’t exciting enough, I’m pleased to announce that Berkley will also be publishing a fourth, full length Colters’ Legacy novel in April 2013. I don’t have a title yet. The heroine is someone briefly mentioned in Colters’ Daughter and someone you’ll meet in the upcoming Colter novella :)

I hope you’re as excited about this as me and my editor are. We talked a long time on the phone this afternoon about how to do this just perfectly for the readers who made this series so successful. We’re just thrilled to be able to do the novella in a way that allows everyone to read in their preferred format.

I realize there will be some disappointment in the delay and for that I apologize. I absolutely would not agree to a delay if I didn’t think it benefitted the readers, and in this case, I think it certainly does.

Much love and my sincerest thanks for making the Colters such a successful and fun series.

Maya

Holiday Themed Stories

So here’s a question. When do you start looking for, wanting to read holiday themed stories? Early? Last minute? Somewhere in between? I’m working on A Colter Christmas and it’s not ALL about Christmas. Christmas occurs but it’s not all Christmassy throughout the entire story. But I’m trying to decide when to release it so I could use your feedback! :)

Big, huge thank you to all my readers

Wow, you guys are so amazing! My digital only release of Colters’ Daughter hit the USA Today bestseller list AND it also hit the NYT ebook bestseller list. All because of you and your enthusiasm. You have my heartfelt thanks. I couldn’t do this without your support and it means the world to me.

Hitting the lists with an ebook is more exciting than I can possibly express. I LOVE ebooks. I love epublishing. Epublishing has allowed me the freedom to write stories that might not otherwise be picked up by a more traditional publisher and they’ve been embraced by you the reader and YOU have made the books successes. Not me. I can write to my heart’s content but that doesn’t make them bestsellers. Only readers can do that and I’m so appreciative that you’ve made MY books bestselling titles.

The Colters’ Legacy books have been special from the beginning. Colters’ Woman struck a chord with so many readers and you made it by far my most successful, bestselling title of any books I’ve written. I owe much to the readers who took a chance on me several years ago when this story came out. You bought it, you talked about it. You then bought my subsequent releases and you’ve remained so steadfastly loyal and I simply do not have the words to tell you how much I love each and every one of you.

Epublishing will always hold a special place in my heart no matter where my career takes me and I’ll never forget that in a lot of ways, Colters’ Woman is responsible for much of my success.

Thank you for buying and supporting Colters’ Daughter! I know it’s different from the other two books in the series and I appreciate your willingness to give it a chance anyway.

Because of you an EBOOK landed on those bestseller lists and because of you, a whole lot more digital only authors will climb those lists too.

Much love,

Maya

A note about future Colters’ Legacy books

First I’d just like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has purchased or plans to purchase Colters’ Daughter. I truly appreciate each and every one of my readers and love you for allowing me to do something I love more than anything. Because of you, Colters’ Daughter climbed all the way to #2 on the Barnes and Noble bestseller list for all books. It also dipped well below the 100 mark at Amazon and it’s a bestseller at the Samhain store as well.

Many of you have been asking if this is the last book in the Colters’ Legacy series.

I should first say that I honestly never had any intention of writing books beyond Colters’ Woman. It took me a few years to come around on that point after many, many and I mean MANY reader emails asking me to please write more about the Colters.

So I’ll tell you now, that I’ve had plans to write at least one more book since I decided to write Colters’ Lady and Colters’ Daughter. :)

For those of you who’ve asked about loose ends or just wanting a feeling of completion to some issues that were raised in Colters’ Lady or Colters’ Daughter, this book would sort of tie all that together in what I hope is a satisfying conclusion.

I hope you’ll understand that I simply cannot bring myself to write future generations of Colters because it would mean saying goodbye to Holly, Adam, Ethan and Ryan and I would be devastated to write a book in which they were no longer alive. I couldn’t do it! It would break my heart. For me they will always live in my heart and mind and on the pages of my books.

So the story I’ve planned to write is about the Colter family as a whole, not just one particular relationship. It would include Holly and her men as well as Lily and hers and of course Callie and Max.

I would love to say I’ll have the book ready by this fall but I can’t promise. Since I want to title it A Colter Christmas, I’d love to have it out no later than November, and I will try very hard, but I simply can’t guarantee it.

But I just want to say that without all the wonderful emails over the years about Colters’ Woman and the nonstop requests to write more books about this family, I would have honestly never written Colters’ Lady or Colters’ Daughter, so this final book would be my way of saying thank you to all my readers.

I love you all to pieces!

Maya

Things you need to know about Colters’ Daughter!

There always seems to be a mixture of confusion and chaos when I release an ebook through Samhain. So hopefully this post will make some things clear and help out those of you readers who might experience difficulties trying to purchase this book.

First and most importantly. This is NOT a print release. Not yet. I thought I’d make this clear on my website but I still get a lot of people asking about the print copy. Colters’ Lady which released in ebook format last June isn’t even available for print yet. It comes out in June of this year. Colters’ Daughter will release FIRST as an electronic book and will then be released as a print book in early 2012. I know this isn’t good news to those of you who only read print books, but this has ALWAYS been the case with my Samhain releases.

Because I know many of you hate having to wait so long for the print release, I asked my publisher to release my next book in print and electronic format on the same day. They have agreed and so this August when Long Road Home is released, you’ll no longer have to wait for the print copy. You can get either on release day.

NOW for perhaps the most frustrating part for those of you who have waited so patiently for the release of Colters’ Daughter. I’ve had many, many, MANY inquiries as to why places like Amazon and Barnes and Noble don’t have the ebook available for pre order. I can only give you information based on my past experiences. Typically Amazon puts up the book anywhere from three days before release day right up TO release day so it could show up literally at any moment provided the book has been made available to them by my publisher. I’ll definitely be posting the buy links as SOON as I find them. Promise!

As for Barnes and Noble? They are horrible about putting up new ebook releases. I’ve never really been able to figure this one out because they typically have books from my other publishers available for pre order on the Nook well before release day. But I’ve found that they often don’t put up Samhain releases until days AFTER the official release day. Yes, that means that if you own a Nook and want to buy the book from Barnes and Noble, you might very well have to wait up to a week after everyone else buys it in order to get it. I can only encourage you to email Barnes and Noble and tell them you want the book on release day or you’ll take your business elsewhere. I don’t know what else to do since I have absolutely no control over when they book goes up.

With all that said, ideally I know you like to purchase books at the place you’re most comfortable purchasing them at, but if you’re like me and are IMPATIENT and want the book on release day, then you’re willing to buy it wherever it’s available. If it turns out that on Tuesday, Feb 1 that you can’t find Colters’ Daughter, you can always go to the Samhain Store and buy the book in whatever format you like. They have formats for Nook, Kindle, Sony, Kobo etc. You name it they have a format you can read on your reader. Promise! And they already have it up for pre order at 30 percent off the cover price.

So with all that said, there are only four more days to release day :))) I hope you enjoy the book, wherever you manage to purchase it from.

Love,

Maya
